Sad as it sounds. We will never get the consistent touring and album releases like in the past. Which is sad because a band like Dave Matthews Band still put out albums and tour consistently every summer. Dave Matthews and band are all multi millionaires and all have families and kids but they tend to realize that being on that stage and entertaining their millions of fans comes first and still seem to love what they do. Shame that our band doesn’t seem to have that fire and desire to do the same thing anymore. Shit we won’t even get vinyl singles anymore and deep magazine, what is that? I love this band and it hurts me that they seem to have lost the connection with each other and their fans. Shit. Tour three months a year and have nine months off for side projects and family time. Way more free time than us working regular jobs that pay for the merch/ tickets/ albums will ever dream of until if and when we can retire. Sorry. I’m just ranting and miss my band. Peace and love. Peace and love.
Peace,Love and Pearl Jam.

I’m guessing you’re not in touch with the dmb fanbase that hasn’t been too happy with the direction of the band. True, DMB is very consistent and tour nearly relentlessly compared to most any band of their size or age but things aren’t perfect in that camp either. PJ and DMB both peaked around the same time and have both been in creative slumps for a good while.

I love both bands and those fans of DMB that are mad still fill the stadiums because DMB still books shows there. Regardless of the new music and creative slump arguments which I will still argue that Lightning Bolt is a great album. The DMB still tour consistently and still pack the house. They are no way a act that hits the fair circuit or casinos. They still sell big numbers at big venues and have had lineup changes and death in the band. It’s just a shame that someone or all of PJ just don’t care anymore. Shit Paul McCartney still tours more than Pj and he’s a fucking Beatle.
    Peace,Love and Pearl Jam.

Plus I just used DMB as an example because they have millions of dollars and families (all the excuses I hear why PJ doesn’t tour regularly) and still do it. Love them or hate them at least their fans get a chance to catch them live. I had to travel from California to Seattle last year to see my favorite band. Yes. As someone said above. That’s life. But it’s from the love of PJ that my feelings are hurt like a jilted lover. And this seemed like a good time to rant because I have a feeling tomorrow’s update will just tickle the balls with no chance of completion. I say this with Peace and Love. Peace and love.
    Peace,Love and Pearl Jam.

Even just one summer of Pearl Jam touring the way DMB does every year would be one of the coolest things they could do at this point.

I just saw DMB live last week so it’s fresh in mind. Fun show. Packed house. Good energy. I’d take 1 PJ show every other year over 5 DMB shows a year any day of the week.

But your point is well well taken and I agree.

Maybe mine has been lost in the mail because I don’t remember the last time I received a Deep magazine. Or a fan club single come to think of it.

I’m just trying to understand without stating what seems to be the obvious reason. That all or some or one of the guys don’t care about being in the band anymore. The fire 🔥 is gone. But all I do is speculate since I don’t have a show or album to keep me busy.

If their fans are more important than their kids and families, then DMB must be real jerks, haha. I doubt that is actually how they feel. I'm thinking they simply have more fun/energy with what they're doing together..... too bad for me that I basically loathe their music.

How does anyone really know why DMB still tours heavily, or why PJ doesn't?

We are speculating, based on our observations.

Freshman year in college and it was all DMB and every douche bag who could play guitar was strumming some song from Crash. Same year as Yield and it was all doom and gloom then that PJ was irrelevant.
    It's a hopeless situation...

That could be argued.  They're two fan club singles and two deep magazines behind..... one could argue they don't :)

In all seriousness... I still think we have good days ahead.  I always figured the band would get older and the output might slow down.   We saw it happen to all the other big rock bands that had multi-decade careers.  I still think we'll get great live shows (even if they are rarer).    My flip side, is given how much 90s music didn't survive, that the band that's been my favourite one since I was 14 keeps on truckin'.   Sure the albums and live shows are a little sparse, but I know I'll get more.  What were the odds my band was the one that survived.. I feel pretty lucky.
