OMG that is so sleazy... he won't demonize the rich. Listen, I will not vote for any politician that isn't willing to marginalize some part of the population. It's literally the most important thing we can do as Americans... marginalize other Americans. Great job as always finding these gems of truth.Spiritual_Chaos said:

Because when we have income inequality as large as we have in the United States today, it brews and ferments political discord and basic revolution. [...] It allows demagogues to step in and say the reason where we are is because of the other, the other. You’re not the other.

the horror!!!!!!From the huffpost article linked aboveThough Biden has pushed a generally populist economic agenda focused on decreasing income inequality and promoting workers’ rights, the former vice president has taken a moderate stance when it comes to taxation. Unlike some of his 2020 Democratic rivals like Sen. Bernie Sanders (I-Vt.), Biden has not singled out the mega-rich as tax targets. He’s instead proposed expanding tax credits for the poor and middle class, and making the tax code less friendly to rich investors.

I think "sleazy" is the word you're looking to use there. The best part of the HuffPo article is that the entire premise of the article is based on an assumption made by the author, who wasn't even in the room. "Appearing to suggest" that his tax plan would not include excessive taxes on the rich, Biden said “no one’s standard of living change” if he’s elected.mickeyrat said:the horror!!!!!!From the huffpost article linked aboveThough Biden has pushed a generally populist economic agenda focused on decreasing income inequality and promoting workers’ rights, the former vice president has taken a moderate stance when it comes to taxation. That's right, "appearing to suggest" was written by someone who was not there for the appearance. That's journalism at its finest.

that's interesting. We have foreigners spreading suspect information all the time on 10C, with the intent to influence the election. I had not thought of it that way.mickeyrat said:mrussel1 said:

What I've noticed about HuffPost is that they are making anti-Joe Biden articles galore. They'll take a negative spin on anything he's saying and drive it in every article. I don't think he's saying what they say he's saying. He's not racist and he's not going to be in the pocket of the wealthy but that's the spin they're making. I think I'll just listen and decide for myself what he's saying. He speaks English; I don't need an interpreter and Joe's been around for a long time. What I want more than anything is soul-eater out of the White House.

Truth. And they will write an occasional hit piece against Harris too. By contrast, the cheerleading for Warren and Sanders is out of control However, they have pulled back from Sanders recently. The worst part is the writing. They hired a bunch of 22 year old bloggers to do the job.Kat said:What I've noticed about HuffPost is that they are making anti-Joe Biden articles galore. That's a real shame. I like to have a more seasoned analysis and it used to come from HuffPost. Now I get it elsewhere. It's really important to get the next election right for our Democracy. It feels much more serious than the elections I've seen before.mrussel1 said:

When Arianna owned it, it was a very good website. It had good writing, timely analysis, etc. Now it's owned by Verizon. Some people think that Verizon is sabotaging it by having right wing trolls write articles, but I don't think that's the case. I think they hire bad writers who reinforce bad talking points.Kat said:

He cant stop himself:
Biden, Recalling ‘Civility’ in Senate, Invokes Two Segregationist Senators

Agreed. Civility and working across the aisle are key faults of his. I mean, you don't need to compromise and work with people you don't like in the real world, so why should you in Congress?Spiritual_Chaos said:He cant stop himself:Biden, Recalling ‘Civility’ in Senate, Invokes Two Segregationist Senators

Wow, all of these other candidates criticizing Biden is really affecting those of us that support his candidacy. Powerful stuff here. Hopefully some random person with a twitter account doesn't weigh in next. That will really be the straw.0
