Japan was not innocent, but go back to the end of the 19th century and early 20th and where do you think Japan learned to become aggressive and why they eventually targeted Hawaii? Good ol' Teddy sowed the seed when he sent his envoy there and then the subsequent US actions. For every action there is a reaction and the US can be traced to having some impact on our own future. Sure, Japan made the decision to bomb Pearl Harbor, but it's not like the US didn't initiate the bad blood decades earlier.mcgruff10 said:

Well we didn't have civilians in Japan so I"m not sure how that is messed up. Millions of Allied soldiers and Japanese soldiers and civilians would have died. What is wrong with statement.dignin said:

Meh.. not sure I'm with you here. Teddy did not create imperialistic fervor in Japan. They saw themselves as racially superior. You could almost say they had a manifest destiny outlook, with all of SE Asia and Oceania as their rightful resources. They attacked Pearl Harbor because they knew war was imminent and they wanted to land a haymaker. They really just wanted us out of their sphere of influence.tbergs said:
