Aren't they better served focusing on beating him in 2020?
They are better served by going after Barr so Orange Sunshine's devout following doesn't riot in the streets, and all his misdeeds would still be exposed.
To not hold impeachment hearings and a floor vote because the senate won’t convict and remove is line an NFC team deciding not to play the 4th quarter against TB12 and the patriots because they’re going to lose. I’d rather go down fighting and being on the right side of history rather than walking away into the locker room with time on the clock.

To not hold impeachment hearings and a floor vote because the senate won’t convict and remove is line an NFC team deciding not to play the 4th quarter against TB12 and the patriots because they’re going to lose. I’d rather go down fighting and being on the right side of history rather than walking away into the locker room with time on the clock.

Good question. It comes across as though they’ll respond to widespread stories, but only the superficial aspects. You see this in the week or two up to elections with October surprises. Willie Horton, swift boating, Comey letter, etc. It seems like if the candidate can resolve the swing voter uncertainty with a feeling of confidence, that helps. I this happened for Obama in 08 as the economy tanked in October. He picked up points on McCain because, I think, he projected confidence in being able to handle the sh*tshow.
