You don't have to agree, but she hardly sounds dumb in her argument for it: https://www.cnn.com/videos/politics/2019/04/23/elizabeth-warren-amazon-google-big-tech-break-up-town-hall-vpx.cnn

When you invent and invest in an ecosystem (what she'd refer to as 'baseball' but isn't actually baseball, it's a proprietary game like Snakes and Ladders that someone designed, aka intellectual property), you reserve the right to make the rules, you get to choose the curation, you get to disclose what you're collecting and then proceed to do so, and it's well understood that you have the right to use that data for what you want, even if that means to eventually compete in the ecosystem you created - that's part of the reason you created it. None of this is ill-gotten, and frankly none of this competitive behaviour is new (just it gets easier when creating an ecosystem is so affordable, and guided by AI).

Maybe I'll learn more and change my mind on this, but even as someone greatly affected by Amazon daily, I respect their right to do what they're doing and how they're doing it, and unfortunately I don't think she sounded intelligent in her argument.

So a more reasonable thing for the candidate to say would be,”reform the tax code so Amazon pays their fair of taxes” instead of “ break them up”. That seems to be Bernie’s theme more or less, no? I don’t recall him calling for breaking these corporations up.

True - and maybe "break them up" is just Warren's way of saying it in a relatable way, rather than "reform the tax code so Amazon pays their fair share of taxes". It's just not as catchy :)

Dumber than the idea of Trump doing his darndest to work for the good of the american people when he's past the Mueller report?
Why on earth would someone want to break up amazon and what benefit would it have?
I would think Warren give her reasons for doing so and the benefits @mcgruff10, no?

Warren is not becoming president, so she is not breaking any company up.  And if any company needs to be broken up it’s Ticketmaster...

It will only be a few years before progressives hate Obama because of his stance on marriage in 2008.

Isn't it weird living in a country where "progressive" is a negative...

Doing everything you can to fight Climate change - HEY WAIT A MINUTE! SLOW DOWN!
Cheaper and more democratic healthcare by tax funding - HEY WAIT A MINUTE! SLOW DOWN!
Caring for people and the world - HEY WAIT A MINUTE! SLOW DOWN!
Getting out of the cult of the US being "the greatest experiment on earth" - HEY WAIT A MINUTE! SLOW DOWN!

Was it his true stance, or his public stance to get elected in conservative/moderate HEY WAIT A MINUTE! SLOW DOWN!-America ? And Biden came out first in support, before Obama - right?

Progressive isn't a negative.  Teddy Roosevelt ran for president on a progressive ticket.  Until very recently, there really wasn't a difference (in my mind) between a progressive and a liberal.  But there's been some odd shift where the SJW's and social media a-holes have taken up this word to describe themselves and the media has subscribed.
BTW - your second paragraph is way overstated and blows up what could have been a pretty good argument.

If I got a nickel every time I did that to myself.

Anyways, the only difference between a liberal and a cannibal is that cannibals don't eat their friends and family. I've heard.

Haha, that's a good joke, and seems to be true this year.  Although, it seems to be the progressives.  Biden would be considered a liberal I think, under today's nomenclature.

If the fees were at least reasonable I wouldn’t complain...but fees can be 20% or more of ticket price seems excessive...and other than the secondary market (legalized scalping), the consumer loses every time.

It's outrageous and meets what's called the Sherman test.  To meet the threshold, all you need is the business to be able to a price and exclude competitors from a geographic area.  I never understood how the sole contracts between TM and the venue did not meet this standard.
To your second point, the scalping is just as bad.  Read this expose from the Toronto Star if you never saw it.  TM colludes with the scalpers.  https://www.thestar.com/news/investigations/2018/09/19/we-went-undercover-as-ticket-scalpers-and-ticketmaster-offered-to-help-us-do-business.html

    https://www.google.com/amp/s/fivethirtyeight.com/features/16-candidates-now-qualify-for-the-first-democratic-primary-debates/amp/

Some info on which candidates have qualified for debates, which is pretty much all of them, lol.
Looks like the  first debates will be split up over a couple of nights because of the amount of candidates who have qualified. I wonder how they’ll be split up. Not really a fan of that but no other way around it with 20 candidates.

See this is a perfect example of the lack of historical perspective when evaluating people's positions.  The Crime Bill was not considered a 'conservative/liberal' demarcation point when it came to pass.  The cities were ravaged by crime and the leaders in the black community, including the majority of the Congressional Black Caucus, supported the bill.  You can't judge their vote by what we know today, 30 friggin' years later, with the benefit of hindsight.  And don't forget the Violence Against Women Act was a subset.  I guess Biden should have voted against that?

Oh and FYI, Sanders voted for it too.  I guess he's a moderate.

I will read the article.  This is why I will never be a fan of politicians.  If she had said that Ticketmaster needs investigating, then I could understand.  Other than Facebook, the companies she mentions has benefited many people...And I am a heavy Amazon user...I can hardly wait until grocery delivery from Amazon comes my way...my dream of never entering another retail store might happen before I die...lol.
