This is an article I can across that I’m sharing because I was kind of having the same thoughts expressed in this opinion piece, recently. It kind of pits Beto against Buttigieg but I tend to agree with most of it, although it kind of took some harsh shots at Beto, so it’s a little one sided, I guess.

It's the Washington Examiner...  they would love for the gay guy to win so they can start with those slurs later.  I'm not denigrating Buttigieg, but the Examiner's motives are never aligned with a Democrats.

Yeah, wasn’t sure about the source, but agreed with the general theme of the article.
I don’t know if my heart would be able to take a whole campaign worth of gay slurs. “What? You gonna vote for a fucking fag? Fucking queer!” for example. Homophobia seems more acceptable or out in the open than racism if you really think about it.

I'm still working on how to say his name without stopping to think about it (Boot-edge-edge, said quickly, lol). But he's my fave man running for sure - I'd MUCH prefer him over Beto. I'm surprised the moderate Republicans who don't like Trump don't like Beto more though. Why don't they? They keep whining about needing a centrist, and Beto is one.

I don't know that they don't.  It's still awfully early..

You know what it's not too early for?  That's right, your weekly HuffPo hit piece on moderates!  https://www.huffpost.com/entry/kamala-harris-truancy-arrests-2020-progressive-prosecutor_n_5c995789e4b0f7bfa1b57d2e

While most D's hold a lead head to head over Trump in PA, Sanders and Biden are double digit.  Pretty good news overall.  Trump has terrible approval in PA.

I dunno. I'd like to see what areas of PA were polled here. Trump owned the rural areas of PA. The democrat will clean up in Philly and Pittsburgh of course. But Lackawanna county (where I'm from actually) will be huge. Obama killed Romney in Lackawanna county in 2012, but Hillary beat Trump in Lackawanna by a only tiny margin, which may have swung the state in 2016. Biden is of course from Lackawanna county (Scranton) so that bodes well for him. I thought it would for Hillary (her father is from Scranton) but Trump made up such a margin there that you can almost say he won the county. He also campaigned there a lot knowing it could swing the state.

Well they would poll across the state and then adjust the results for registration and historical results.  So two things are always variables in polling 1. people who are registered for one party and vote for the other and 2. sporadic voters who are not in the adjustments. In other words people who end up voting, but were not expected to do so.
I agree that Biden will be very strong in the Scranton area.  I would think Sanders would be as well. They both speak the right language for a state as old as PA.  I do like that Biden would likely throw back verbal punches at Trump.  He's the kind of guy that would challenge Trump to a fight.

Only 3 of 8 folks on a CNN focus group from I think Lackawanna County raised their hands and said they’d vote for him. All were self identified indies. Only 5 of 8 gave him credit for the economy and said despite that, they were tired of his BS, paraphrasing.

Or the polling data shared with the Russians by Manafort that repubs are okay with directed Putin on the ritz to focus on that area of PA.

I like Biden too. Hopefully he still has some fight left in him. He won't be rattled by any of Trump's attacks, but I worry that he might not have it in in him to fight back like he would a few years ago. We'll see I guess. He may not even declare his candidacy until the 11th hour because he doesn't have to. He's so well-known that he doesn't have to be campaigning early like say Beto, Harris, or the other "newbies" on the scene.

True, he definitely has that advantage.  Polling this well without announcing is a nice luxury.

Biden taking heat for his inappropriate conduct towards women. Not sure if this is really an issue. I’ve heard and read about these things with Biden before. I personally feel you shouldn’t be touching people without their consent, especially coming up behind them and rubbing and kissing them on the back of the head or whatever.
So, not sure what to think. All, I know is a pat on the back or a handshake would suffice. Why you gotta get all creepy Uncle Joe? I mean the republicans are gonna use this against him, better he deals with it now. It could potentially have an affect in the primary though.

This is a 20 plus year old story.  Times have changed.  Everyone knows this.
