Right? I always take my life advice from Don Cherry.

  • I do like Don Cherry. He had a great perspective on hockey back when I concerned myself with hockey more.

Qualification: haven’t listened to him in the last 10-15 years though.

Don Cherry is still great.  There is a reason he has not been fired, especially how over the top he been.  Whether he's liked or not he just as much a Canadian icon as Gretzky.

CTV News was granted unprecedented access to an ISIS camp in Syria where several Canadian women are being held. Paul Workman reports.

Justin Trudeau holds a "basic dictatorship" caucus meeting to reassure his MPs he isn't running a dictatorship!
"Multiple caucus sources told CBC News that Trudeau convened an extraordinary caucus meeting by telephone Tuesday evening to reassure them that nothing untoward had taken place in his office's interactions with Wilson-Raybould over the SNC-Lavalin case when she was justice minister.
But unlike the party's normal caucus meetings, this was a one-way call — with Trudeau doing the talking. Caucus members were not able to ask Trudeau questions. MPs were told to follow up with the PMO or regional offices."

He wouldn't answer the questions anyway..."um, um, um, ah, ah, ah, what was the question again, oh a hair is out of place...".

Gerald Butts resigns as Prime Minister Justin Trudeau's principal secretary

I guess he is the chosen fall guy for Trudeau.  Glad to see him gone, he is the architect of the Ontario green energy scam that has lead to energy poverty for many.

She was drinking again and got confused...

    Kinsella's tweet is partisan drivel.

The text of May's tweet reads: "I know Gerry Butts as a person of sharp intellect and good heart. Why has he resigned? I repeat the Green call for an independent inquiry".

Kinsella is the one who is apparently easily confused. May's tweet makes three points: (1) She respects Butt's intelligence and competence. (2) It is not clear why he resigned and what his involvement is in this situation, and (3) Given these two pieces of information, there needs to be an investigation to determine the truth.

Interesting how you've been calling for an investigation yourself, except not when a politician you dislike makes the same call.

BC tabled its budget yesterday and overall I'm pleased. More support for low income families, elimination of student loan debt, more money for modular housing for the homeless, all in a balanced budget. The wild card is the projection that the massive costs associated with ICBC are managed going forward, which is a big if, and that housing continues to be hot, which is less of a big if.

  • Canadian legal system just kicking ass again:

There have been a bunch more since the last time I went on and on about it, but I never bothered to post any- it's just piling on at this point. The country's justice system has definitively been established as broken.

I'm casting a vote for anyone who runs on a justice system reform platform. Not just the shitty little token peso variety reform... I'm talking serious reforms.

With all the handouts and safeguards hard working people of Canada provide for people in tough times (deserving) and for  f**kwads (undeserving)... if you can't make it in Canada without injuring or killing someone in a criminal way... then you can't make it anywhere- you're a complete loser.

  • Like... here's a shithead... trafficking 27,500 fentanyl pills... that gets off because the judge wasn't sure if the drug sniffing police dog sat or not.

    Hahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahahaha

You can't make this shit up. What a f**king joke.

Just curious, what you would like to see?  Harper tried to get tough and was just dragged to court when someone did not like the law.  You can pass all the laws you want, but if the judges always seem to side more on the lenient side of sentencing, and then the parole board is much the same way.  It would seem to be the judges that hand out lenient sentences are more the problem, same with the parole board.

I'm not sure how the system is fixed.  Trudeau doesn't have the backbone to fix anything.  We might be the only country that has yet to tell these ISIS assholes (male and female) that you are not coming home...I mean if Trudeau cannot stand up to traitors and terrorist, he sure as hell isn't even going to attempt to fix the system.  Hey, it's great to see he passed a bill that allows cops to pull over a fellow after returning empties to the beer store...we all know that law will be struck down soon.

Pretty dismissive of sexual assault victims to apply this language to a political dispute. Disgusting that it was tweeted, disgusting that it was posted.
