So I did do the math with the taxes and after 5 years of construction tax revenue would be around $44,100,000. That's an average of 1000 construction workers a year making 100k.
When the place is built and there is 25,000 people making on average 150K a year, that would be $1,653,750,000 in taxes in 5 years.
That is a ton of money that comes in every single year to the city.
What this does do is kill any lower income areas in a 25 mile radius of LIC which is already too high in my opinion. She will be a fringe for staying power.
Her career ends with her being a congress woman. She could get speaker but I don't think she is a good fit. She will do activism after this most likely and have a core group of followers.

I’m arguing against the idea that an individual worth $131 billion dollars needs a $3 billion dollar subsidy to create jobs when in fact he could pay for it himself and not miss a step. It’s arrogance of the highest degree and then to assume that because of your wealth, you don’t have to understand the local ground game and that everyone will just roll over for you because you’re promising jobs. I would love to see a spreadsheet of those 25K jobs by position, by salary band, by number per. Why the secrecy of details? Why not transparency? Why the fear of unionization of your warehouse operations? If everything is all unicorns and rainbows, show the details. And when it got a little hot, threw a hissy fit and stomped off. 200 other locations put in for it so maybe they’ll be so lucky.
