I honestly thought we'd have had President Pence in 2018. Until 2020.CM189191 said:cincybearcat said:I really wish I had picked 2019 in this poll...I just got so upset about the russian election meddling...and I thought republicans would too...I underestimated their need for power over truth. 2018 has come and gone...he's still here.
Since when has the Republican party ever valued anything over power? Not for as long as I can remember....hippiemom = goodness0

Buzzfeed reporting that Team Trump Treason has committed crimes and that Team Mueller has corroborated it. Am I the only one here who believes that there's no freakin' way we are going to get rid of this president before his first (or, God/Buddha/Allah/Universe/Mystery/Great Spirit/Zeus help us, his second) term? I mean, look at the shit that has come down these last two years. Where are we? Yep, still stuck neck deep in shit. The only smart thing to do now is prep and get behind a good Democrat to run against the Golden One next election (not that I'm a die-hard true-blue Dem, but do you see any Republicans on the horizon that know their ass from... whatever?). If he hasn't been stopped by now, IT AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN. We need to deal with that (oh believe me, I know how very hard that is to do) and get with it and get someone better in there next time. And while were at it, we need to tell our fellow Americans to stop being so fucking stupid. God DAMN I'm sick to death of fucking stupid Americans. Am I angry? Damn straight I'm pissed. Thanks, I feel better. Please feel free to dis my rant or run with it and add your own. No you are not. Barring death or medical emergency, he is going to be president until the end of the first term. It’s pretty clear that the GOP and 40% of the population don’t care what happened; they are owning libs. I don’t care if it’s worse than Watergate; that was pre-internet/Fox News.brianlux said:Am I the only one here who believes that there's no freakin' way we are going to get rid of this president before his first (or, God/Buddha/Allah/Universe/Mystery/Great Spirit/Zeus help us, his second) term? I have not thought that he was going to leave office, at minimum before 2020, because it seems that in 2019, nothing matters. Dude has been teflon. If this story is legit though....ohhh boy. I see 3 outcomes.
 He resigns
He get's primary'd (spelling?), which at that point, he might as well resign
 He loses in 2020
As much as I want to say that there is zero percent chance Mitch McConnell would kick him out of office, at some point he does more harm than good and if there are receipts, it's at that point, so you never know. Still think the 3 options up there are most likely
For the first time in a long time I see an end to this nightmare.0

I have generally agreed with this until last night, IF it is true. If Mueller has a felony on the President, I think we are at the point that the embarrassment/damage of Donald Trump is bigger than the embarrassment /damage of having a Republican president kicked out of office, for the party. At the end of the day, that is all that matters to McConnell and he holds the keys to a swift kick in the assOnWis97 said:

LMAO. you still can't indict a sitting president, right? so how do you see this playing out? that he's going to resign? at this point, even if there's proof he committed crimes, do you really think his own party is going to vote to impeach?Halifax2TheMax said:

At some point, yes. They don't give half a fuck about Donald Trump. When McConnell no longer has use for him and him getting the boot is more beneficial to the party than him being President, yes. We're getting closer to that.HughFreakingDillon said:

A 4th option is that he wins in 2020. So far, I don't think most potential democrats would have a chance. Maybe Beto? He had a pretty good showing in a solidly-red state. (actually a 5th option is impeach/remove; he might dig his heels so far that he won't just step away, Nixon-style)Cliffy6745 said:I have not thought that he was going to leave office, at minimum before 2020, because it seems that in 2019, nothing matters. For the first time in a long time I see an end to this nightmare.
 Looking at these outcomes:
 He resigns or is impeached/removed
He get's primaried (That's my guess at the spelling)
 He loses in 2020
He wins in 2020- The party is protecting him and has proven it will until the bitter end. 40% of the population is his base (probably the most disheartening thing to come out of all this for me) and will either not believe any negative stories or not care. I'd say there's a 1% chance he does not finish term 1. (.5% if Muller is still working on this during the 2020 election, which I think is possible).
- Primaried is a long shot. I'd say someone will try, but if it's more than one person, they'll just split the vote. And he's over 85% with Republicans. His base is republicans. I don't think he's beatable there. Less than 1%
- Loses in 2020? Possible. Nobody is going to bring the hate/baggage that Hillary did. Still, the Dems don't have a deep bench. 2018 was a decent sign. I'd say 48% chance he loses.
- Wins in 2020. We keep underestimating him. 50% chance he's inaugurated in 2021. (This is me stepping away from the edge...until recently, the idea of him not being president for eight years had not really occurred to me.

of course they don't. they only latched onto his wagon when they knew there was no choice. when is a sitting president getting the boot beneficial to any party? that will cripple them.Cliffy6745 said:
At some point, yes. They don't give half a fuck about Donald Trump. When McConnell no longer has use for him and him getting the boot is more beneficial to the party than him being President, yes. We're getting closer to that.HughFreakingDillon said:
LMAO. you still can't indict a sitting president, right? so how do you see this playing out? that he's going to resign? at this point, even if there's proof he committed crimes, do you really think his own party is going to vote to impeach?Halifax2TheMax said:
Since I’ve been accused of YELLING ON THE INTERWEBS OR AT LEAST BEING WORRIED ABOUT NOT HAVING ANYONE TO YELL AT, I’M GOING TO YELL TO THE HEAVENS,”FUCK YOU TEAM TRUMP TREASON!”The Juggler said:#

 IT’S
 ALL
 HAPPENING
Who had doubts? Who believed? Look in the mirror.
I don't see him ever resigning unless it's to make a deal to stay out of jail. he is a narcissist in the classic sense and in my opinion honestly believes he's doing an amazing job, is the best president ever, and has done nothing wrong. that type of person doesn't step down willingly.
I can see him not seeking reelection and claiming something ridiculous like "I've done more in one term than any president did in two in the history of this great nation, so there's no need for me to continue".Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0
