I just don't think this "They're scared of her because she's a strong woman!" rhetoric is accurate. I think it's what the Dems want to believe ("we've got them scared now!") because they've been being out-politicked by the GOP over the past year or two.

They feel threatened by her for several reasons, so no, saying that they are threatened by her just because she's a strong woman, that's obviously not the case. They are threatened by the whole package. And I think that is what Dems believe. There is absolutely sexism being directed at her from the GOP though.

You missed one of my points. Alexandria puts herself out there a lot. She's done a lot of interviews and is in the public eye more than most who just took office. Actually, I can't name a single other person outside of my state who took office. She's gotten a lot of good publicity. Anyone who does that will also receive bad publicity.
I'm sure there's a lot of things said about the freedom caucus, but no not as much. but that wasn't my point. They don;t put themselves out there, they aren't on 60 minutes, they aren't in the public as much as she has.
I do think sexism exists in government, I would imagine it is probably a lot harder for a woman to get started than a man. I never said otherwise.
What I did say is I don't think the comments we see towards Alexandria right now are mostly sexist based. Anyone in the spotlight that much will have negative things said about them. You couldn't be critical of Obama without being called racist. You couldn't dislike Hilary without being called sexist. When the fake nudes surfaced that was said to be an attack by the republicans, when nearly every famous woman under 40 has that. I just think political views play a bigger role than those things. Its not always racism and sexism. She is outspoken and has extreme views. That attracts a lot of attention.

She’s the youngest woman ever elected to the House of Representatives. What is she supposed to do, hide in the kitchen? She got elected in a mostly minority, medium income, liberal district. Are her ideas radical? To the white establishment, sure. To a diverse, economically challenged, environmentally aware and socially media conscious constituency, probably not. They fear her because she’s going to challenge them forcefully and directly on their policies and they’re going to have to defend their positions, positions that have failed the average voter, don’t align with their values, when explained, and the planet. Millineals have a different set of values, both morally and politically than the old, white, repub party lead by Team Trump Treason.

If you want to “beat” her, beat her on policy debate and not derision and derogatory social media attacks. But I think that’s all the repubs have, as the mid terms illustrated.

I don;t fear her...I fear some of her ideas, especially her ideas of data and fact from time to time. But I'm interested to see how she does and how she grows. But not someone I'm aligned with politically very much at all.
