    We need to keep the bar really high and not be simply relieved that we don't have a moron in office. That being said, I'm not impressed. I voted for him, but I don't think I can again. For my personal set of values... he's been a disappointment.

    I'll concede that the legalization of dope was a major feat though that cannot be understated.

    All other issues aside, I remember seeing that clip of Trudeau (the whole thing) when it happened, and I was duly impressed by the fact that he knew that and knew how to explain it in a way that made sense to anyone.     HFD does make a good point about how low the bar for comparison is here when Trump is the comparison... This is the same for all the leaders though. Poeple are often doing the same with the leaders from Germany, Mexico, even Russia FFS. Trump makes EVERYONE look great. (as for Trudeau himself - I think he's doing a reasonably good job in general. I very much dislike a few things he's done (obviously the pipeline purchase was the biggest shit show by far), though none of those things surprised me. Some other things he's done average with, other things he really couldn't have controlled in any case. He did keep some major campaign promises that were important to me, and he made them happen pretty damn efficiently, all things considered. I think he's doing a more than adequate job. He's handled trade negotiations as well as anyone could have, for one thing. And I'm quite sure he'll be reelected, and I'm good with that. I will vote for him again ... not that that's saying much, considering the competition; there really aren't any other decent options at all).

    There are several tweets describing exactly how low the bar is for the US right now when the country is feeling good about the fact that Donald never ruined a high profile funeral lol.

    Yeah really. I'm kind of expecting to hear the news media making comments about how maybe the Presidency is finally on the right track because Trump actually made it through funeral day without totally offending the Bush family or completely humiliating himself along with the entire country, lol.
