We're obviously wasting our time arguing with someone who has no real appreciation and understanding for PJ and what they stand for. I'm not exactly sure why you are even in this club if that's the way you feel about things. It's actually pretty sad how cynical you are about life and music. Are you a republican by any chance?

yeah, i mean the his statement "50 bucks is a lot for a band with a singer who rambles on about "the man"...

    reveals alot...

    Esther's here and she's sick?

Your response has nothing to do with the "right" and "wrong" that I was referring to. I can read, thank you. It's comprehending narrow-minded, self-centered human beings like yourself that I have trouble with.

Well, that's just a shame. I'll continue to enjoy the music, and realize it is just an act.

Reveals that Ed is a guy who means well, but doesn't practice what he preaches.

Green Disease... surely applies to Pearl Jam.

Well it's cute that you think they care about us. I will continue to pay for their services and that will be that.

Wow, it's quite sad (and idiotic) that you think it's not about money when they charge 50 bucks for a ticket.
$50 is far less than a lot of bands charge. Why am I not surprised to see yet another idiotic post from you? Luckily, you're what I'd consider part of the few black sheep of the 10c family. I think most of us realize that this band does care about us and it's not at all about money to them.

I'm not exactly sure what it is you are so angry with Eddie but I know for damn sure that taking advantage of some of the perks that come with stardom doesn't mean that Eddie is not practicing what he preaches. They don't have to do a lot of the benefits, fundraisers, free shows, etc that they do. PJ has never exploited their fame for greed or money. I'm sorry but you obviously don't know anything about PJ. Your favorite PJ song is probably Jeremy because they've played it a million times on KROQ haha! Learn something before you go running your mouth about things you don't know about.

I'll be honest here and lay it all out.

I think Pearl Jam mean well. I think that their hearts are in a decent place.

I do find it funny that Ed rambles on and on about "the man" and "greedy people" all the time and then somehow doesn't mind charging people 50 bucks when he is already rich. I find it funny that he always goes on and on about Fugazi and how they do things, but has no problem flying around in a personal jet.

I find it funny that they charge 10 bucks for mp3s and 15 for flacs of shows that they could get out a lot cheaper, such as a pay site with bittorrents or something.

I find it funny that they cause chaos with the posters every night. They could print more, charge less, and bam, everyone is happy and has a few extra bucks in their pocket.

I appluad them for not charging more (which they could, but not too much more... they aren't that popular any more.. see some of the southern 2003 shows that didn't sell so well)

They NEED the 10C, and they know it. They need those people who go to multiple shows. Without them, they would not sell out the places that they do. They need the 10C to get the same people who come to every show who know they will be up front.

They mean well, but for all their punk rock ethos, they could do a lot more - or - charge a lot less.

Sorry that I don't fall in line with the Church of PJ and can't admit their faults... they have them.

I'd respect them if they'd just say "hey, it's nice being rich and playing music.." and left at that rather than trying to be punk.

Yes, dumbfuck, Jeremy is my favorite song, and I went around the country 30 times to see them just to hear that song.

Well, this is why I dislike most Pearl Jam fans... they are so brainwashed by this band it is funny.

It is about money, which isn't the point... how many times do I have to say that I don't care that they make money... I think 20 bucks is decent... I think 50 bucks is decent.

But you can't ramble on about "keeping it small" "blah blah Fugazi", and be taken seriously when you are charging 50 bucks and are on Vh1

I think someone already posted before that there are a lot of costs involved putting a World Tour together. Name another band that offers they're fans every night on bootleg for a mere 10 bucks. I can't even think of one. Would it be better if the shows and bootlegs were free? then every half ass fan would come to the shows, its bad enough we have you in our club. I'm not sure what shows your talking about but every show I've been to has been sold out.

You seem to be the only judge around here-judging and talking shit about the very same band that you paid 20 bucks to be in their club-what a real idiot. Either you like the band or you don't. -Oh you just like to join the bandwagon every few years when they come around.-That must be it.

You sir, are a true fucking idiot.

At least the others can put up a decent argument other than "your fav. song must be Jeremy"

Yes...I join the bandwagon to see 30 fucking shows.

I pay the 20 bucks for ease of getting seats... which, is a service.

Like I said, you are an idiot.

Your bitching and complaining about having to pay 50 bucks but yet you will travel to 30 shows to see some corporate band that just rambles about the"man"- The only idiot I see here is you-and I'm not a sir either.

I never complained about the money... which is another reason you are an idiot since you can't read.

I DONT CARE HOW MUCH MONEY THEY MAKE... I DONT MIND PAYING 50 BUCKS.

I DO think it is hypocritical to bitch about rich people all the time like Ed does, when he is one himself.

Holy fucking shit you are dense.

If someone else profits off the band or their tickets, I don't care.

They profit off of us, so who cares if someone makes money off them.

I said it earlier, and since you can't read... I'll repeat it.

I don't care that they are rich, I don't care that they have money... good for them. But you can't be rich and then ramble on about your punk ethos.

    Can't have it both ways.
First of all, I can't even recall a time where I've heard Ed use the word "punk" and certainly not to describe his ethos. Obviously the band has money. But look at what they do with their money. FFS, they're donating locally for every fucking show they play on this tour. They have a ginormous list of organizations that they donate regularly to. They play benefit concerts as often or more often than any other band I've ever heard of. They charge far less money for tickets than any band of their caliber. They don't phone in shows, they rock through every one with blood, sweat and tears with the most diverse setlists in the industry. You don't think they care about us? Again, fuck you and your negativity. You don't belong here. I imagine there are some Creed songs that could use your ear.

They charge 2 extra bucks a ticket to give to those charities... lmao... you pay for it, not them.

Creed... wow, that's a good arguement.

And Ed has rambled about punk ethos their whole career.. the "fugazi ethics"... whatever you want to call them.

I don't belong here... boo hoo, awwwwwwww people on a PJ message board don't think I am a worthy fan because I don't bow to their "greatness"

I "get" what you are saying. I just don't live in a la la dream world where a group of 5 rich guys give a shit about me.

I pay for music. They provide music. That's a business deal. They make money off of us, so I could care less if someone makes money off them. I buy my tickets and go to the shows... that's the end of my concern.

If they truely lived by their punk ethos, maybe I would have a different opinion. But punk ethos don't allow for AOL Sessions, Storytellers, etc.... lasers, over priced tickets, over priced merch, over priced bootlegs.

Even Jeff said he wanted to make money. (like he is poor... oh poor Jeff, boo hoo)

My beef isn't with them making money... I am fine with that. I just think it's funny that you all don't see it.

Susan Silver said Pearl Jam's gimmick trying not to have a gimmick... and you all bought in to it.
You said tickets were overpriced didn't you? Just wondering what do you think they should charge for tickets and bootlegs?
