    I'm very much like you.  The "THE FIELD" next to my name indicates that; I've never thought impeachment was likely.  I still don't.  I don't think whatever comes out of the investigation will matter.  The haters already hate, the lovers will love unconditionally, and the indifferent will remain indifferent.  Like you, I think the left under-estimates Trump's popularity.  I also think the left over-estimates the ability American People, the GOP, and the media to put the good of the country over the good of a party and of a madman who has captured nearly half the country for reasons they don't even recall. 

    I am negative.  I am cynical.  I believe it's realistic that we could be in year 2 of 30 (Don, Don Jr, Ivanka, Eric each with two terms).

    And, my god, you're bringing me down.  That's saying a lot.

    There are older posts by me expressing frustration at the left "waiting for the impeachment fairy."  Anecdotally, there are people who have been on the edge of their seats since inauguration day, expecting America to come to its senses and somehow get them out of there. I speak from experience, so trust me on this: you'll feel much better if you don't worry about them. They'll probably be disappointed by the outcome.  So be it.  For my part, I just try to enjoy life and not get too on-edge about the day-to-day because I know whatever happens remains a long way off.  Let the optimistic "he's going down" crowd be optimistic.  Doesn't impact you.  Once I stopped worrying about them, this whole thing became much more manageable.

    For the first time, an opposition party is expected to receive more midterm votes than the sitting president earned to gain office. 

    The economy is terrific. No new wars occurred in the current term. No major terrorist acts or international US screwups.

    The Republicans should have easily held the house. Don't even try the  House always flips nonsense. It does not.

    For some reason, and in an unprecedented manner, James Carvilles famous line had zero impact on the recent elections. It "wasn't the economy, stupid"

    Yeah, the Russia thing is having little impact with America. Sure.

    Haley is ultra conservative.
    Collins voted with Trump more than any other senator this year.
    Murkowski has higher conservative "scores" than Collins.
    Condi's probably your best bet here. Center-right.
