I was not shocked.  I actually bought into the notion that supporters didn’t admit to it.  I also saw that several states she was supposed win were shaky.  Neither result was going to shock me.

29% is a massive underdog folks

    I love you guys :)

But 29% allows for a win that is not completely out of the realm of possibilities. If it was 100% and the results weren't realized... then this would be an issue.

I could have sworn that when i was watching CNN on election night their projection was that clinton had like a 92% chance or something ridiculous like that. But I could be recalling it incorrectly.

Nate Silver / 538, at like 29% for Trump was one of the closest...many, many others had her close to 90%.

Now we are saying this wasnt a massive, shocking, wtf just happened type of upset? C'mon

In the weeks leading up she was an even bigger chalk
I was scared before the election, but held hope (and cursed Comey the whole time too, lol) ... and then I kind of had an anxiety attack when the results became clear. And then I felt fucking mad about all the stupidity and grossness.

I'm no Hillary fan but I'll never understand this notion that she was a worse option than Trump. Why? Trump has proven throughout his business career to be way more "crooked" than Hillary even had the ability to be. Don't get me wrong, she's no angel. I understand why and how anyone wouldn't want her as the President. But a crooked casino-owner turned reality TV star that has had several business endeavors go bankrupt? He was the better option?

Call 'em whatever ya want. I think some of them thumb their nose at logic (the logic that Trump is horrible) as a "fuck you" to the people calling them uneducated, racist, etc.

No, not the majority or core that you're referencing. The fringe people maybe.

And the majority of "uneducated" whites voted Democrat the last 60 years, including under Obama... and the GOP owned the "educated" white vote

Did you look down your nose at them then, or just now when it's convenient?

And people still wonder why he won

Yah mean when they didn't control Congress until 1994 and the white house was equally held by both sides since 1960-2016? Those repubs? The new catch phrase, "elitist."

Without getting into detail, when you want to make it clear that you do not support political dynasties or a number of democrat policies...then yes.  Not to mention that she has displayed no interest in rural agricultural communities.  There are not many of Clinton’s policies that I agree with.  How many times do you have to vote for Trump before the message gets across that you do not agree with the status quo political landscape?  Trump is just a pawn in voicing displeasure...a non-violent protest on my part.  I think he is as much of an idiot as everyone else, but I would still vote for him over Hillary any day.  Probably for a lot of the same reasons people voted for Bernie over her.

Fair enough. And frankly, your talk about political dynasties and democrat polices is what actually had me ready to vote for the republican for the first time in my voting life. Jeb, and maybe even Cruz, might have gotten my vote. But not Trump. Couldn't bring myself to do it. I'd take the status quo over complete chaos.

Further, you mean back when repubs worked with dems in a bi-partisan fashion to get shit done for the good of the country? Back when they would regularly socialize with one another, address each other with respect? Back before the tea baggers took over and the black guy became president? Back when those college educated repubs were smart and used their brain, thought constructively and critically? Actually believed in the science behind a lot of things? Back before all they believed was that Jesus walked with dinosaurs? Is that what you mean? Elitists didn't turn repubs into Cletuses, they did that all on their own.

It doesn't take much to be an elitist. You just have to be offended by Trump in some way and you qualify..

That hurt feelings and feeling like they were being talked down to is also part of the false narrative of why trump won.
