On Wednesday, Rep. Earl Blumenauer (D-OR) issued a memo to his party’s leadership laying out a step-by-step process for how they can pass marijuana legislation in 2019 should they control one or both chambers of Congress.0

            Yea, sure. Beer. BBQ. Woot.

I love SAAB. A buddy of mine had an old 9000 turbo back in the high school/college days. Pretty sure it had ~300k miles on it by the time it finally crapped out. You can get a used one pretty cheap these days.

Was the most popular car to steal/Drive for bank robberies in Sweden for a long time. Maybe still. Reliable. And I guess, easy to steal.HesCalledDyer said:I love SAAB. Living in Trollhättan, every third car was a SAAB. Just going down 70-80 km to Gothenburg and it looked completely different. To bad the amount of cars per capita wasn't like in Trollhättan, than the company would have survived.
Fuck General Motors. And people not driving SAAB."Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0

I stopped drinking 22 years ago. If I was able to have one drink before I died it would be a properly pulled Guinness Stout in a pint. That stuff is like manna.lastexitlondon said:

Why isn't America THE LAND OF THE FREE AND ONE NATION UNDER GOD number one on this list?
For a nation arguing to be the greatest ever, shouldn't it atleast crack the top 10?

I've thought about what the measurements would be, like health outcomes, exposure to violence, health care spending, life expectancy, infant mortality, percent living in poverty, etc. but facts don't matter much in these parts.09/15/1998 & 09/16/1998, Mansfield, MA; 08/29/00 08/30/00, Mansfield, MA; 07/02/03, 07/03/03, Mansfield, MA; 09/28/04, 09/29/04, Boston, MA; 09/22/05, Halifax, NS; 05/24/06, 05/25/06, Boston, MA; 07/22/06, 07/23/06, Gorge, WA; 06/27/2008, Hartford; 06/28/08, 06/30/08, Mansfield; 08/18/2009, O2, London, UK; 10/30/09, 10/31/09, Philadelphia, PA; 05/15/10, Hartford, CT; 05/17/10, Boston, MA; 05/20/10, 05/21/10, NY, NY; 06/22/10, Dublin, IRE; 06/23/10, Northern Ireland; 09/03/11, 09/04/11, Alpine Valley, WI; 09/11/11, 09/12/11, Toronto, Ont; 09/14/11, Ottawa, Ont; 09/15/11, Hamilton, Ont; 07/02/2012, Prague, Czech Republic; 07/04/2012 & 07/05/2012, Berlin, Germany; 07/07/2012, Stockholm, Sweden; 09/30/2012, Missoula, MT; 07/16/2013, London, Ont; 07/19/2013, Chicago, IL; 10/15/2013 & 10/16/2013, Worcester, MA; 10/21/2013 & 10/22/2013, Philadelphia, PA; 10/25/2013, Hartford, CT; 11/29/2013, Portland, OR; 11/30/2013, Spokane, WA; 12/04/2013, Vancouver, BC; 12/06/2013, Seattle, WA; 10/03/2014, St. Louis. It says - scoring categories based on electoral process and pluralism, civil liberties, functioning of government, political participation, political culture.cincybearcat said:

USA falls down the list on political participation alone - not even half of the country votes in presidential elections, nevermind mid terms, etc.0

Yeah, I tried to find out, but it looks like you need to register with The Economist to download the whitepaper. Best I could find without registering: "The index, which comprises 60 indicators across five broad categories—electoral process and pluralism, functioning of government, political participation, democratic political culture and civil liberties—concludes that less than 5% of the world’s population currently lives in a “full democracy”.
