Oh man, it has 'Thank You' from the Unplugged In Sweden set. That's guaranteed to bring a tear to the eye.

I still think it's the best version I've ever heard of that song, and it's one of the first songs I ever played to my wife (I played her the Sweden set the first day we met)
    “Do not postpone happiness”
    (Jeff Tweedy, Sydney 2007)

“Put yer good money on the sunrise”
    (Tim Rogers)

It's my Wife and I's song.    That specific version from the the Live in Sweden bootleg.  Kind of make us a little sad when we hear it, but it's still our song.

The limited edition Super Deluxe Edition 4-CD, 1-DVD, and audiophile 180-gram 7-LP box set holds 88 tracks – 64 songs plus 24 videos, with 13 recordings previously unreleased overall – from all stages of Chris’ career including Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Audioslave and his solo works. Creative Director for the project is Jeff Ament (Pearl Jam, Temple of the Dog) who oversaw the project design including the 66-page hardcover photo book wrapped in linen with red foil signature, three artist lithos, three photochromatic lithos inspired by Cornell’s lyrical fascination about the sun, a vinyl turntable mat, a microfiber vinyl cleaning cloth, and a 36x48-inch wall poster. Liner notes contributions by Kim Thayil, Matt Cameron, Tom Morello, Mike McCready and Brendan O’Brien

The centerpiece to the collection is the newly discovered, unreleased track “When Bad Does Good” found in Chris’ personal audio archive which was performed, recorded and mixed by Chris himself. The Super Deluxe’s additional ten unreleased live performances include Cornell’s duet with Yusuf/Cat Stevens on “Wild World” and another duet with his daughter, Toni Cornell, on Bob Marley’s indelible classic, “Redemption Song.” Temple of the Dog’s 25th anniversary reunion/first-ever-official tour in 2016 is highlighted with hometown performances of “Reach Down” and the Andy Wood/Mother Love Bone favorite “Stargazer,” Chris’ personal arrangement of “One” featuring the lyrics to Metallica’s song set to the music of U2’s song of same name, and a first ever album release of Audioslave’s 2005 ground-breaking performance on Cuban soil of “Show Me How To Live.” Also in 2016, one of Chris’ personal career-topping moments was performing at the prestigious Royal Albert Hall in London where he covered The Beatles’ “A Day In The Life.” The three additional live selections from Sweden in 2006 “Wide Awake,” “All Night Thing” and Led Zeppelin’s “Thank You” are from the very first show Chris performed by himself with an acoustic guitar in front of an audience which became the creative spark for his future, highly successful Songbook tours. Two unreleased music videos spotlight a solo acoustic performance of “Scream” and the newly edited Soundgarden video “Live To Rise,” showcasing the band only without The Avengers movie footage included.

Bummed that you can only get the live TOTD on vinyl on the huge box set.
  • I'm surprised they used that rainbow print of him.  I remember the artist who made it selling them the day after Cornell died and I thought it was in bad taste.

Super bummed. In fact I probably won’t end up buying any version of this. I just want vinyl but i already own most of what comes on the vinyl version.  All the stuff I want is only on the $300 set. I don’t want CDs. I don’t want any of the extra stuff. Just all the Sweden, TOTD and other live tracks.

It’s kind lame I gotta say. I was super excited about this. Saw the 4 versions this morning and got bummed. Why would there not be a complete vinyl version?  I don’t get it.

Defintley not gonna pay $300 for a bunch of CDs and a DVD I’m never gonna touch. Just gimme vinyl.

Looks like several unreleased songs. Hoping for a full temple show someday
Same. Wish they could release all 2016 TOTD shows on CD, in a nice Box Set.
Just one show or a compilation from various shows would be fine. Setlist didn't change on the tour

Personally I'm optimistic.   You know there's always stuff left on the cutting room floor, or stuff that never got release for some reason or another.   Given how many albums he made in his life, i would hope there's a few albums worth of unreleased material out there.

Wasn't soundgarden close to being done with a new album?

I'm in the same boat.  I don't really buy cd's anymore.  Digital for the truck and portable player.  Vinyl for the house.  $300 usd is pretty steep.  Probably wait a while and see if the price ever comes down.

Don't order from them.  I think they're going under.   People were writing in the a Tom Petty thread that there orders for the live anthology weren't being honoured.

Yup. I’m actually pretty bummed. Don’t get me wrong, it looks awesome. But I have no interest in the CDs whatsoever, don’t want the dvd, and have TOTD/Soundgarden/Cornell solo on vinyl already. That leaves me REALLY wanting the vinyl stuff that seems to only be available in the super deluxe set. I already have 90% of what’s on the 2LP set.  Not sure why they wouldn’t have offered complete vinyl only.  Oh well. I was just so excited about some of that live stuff on vinyl but I will never own it at $300
  • I'm not sure I can pull the trigger for $300 (plus tax and shipping maybe?) for mainly a greatest hits package. Looks like they sold over 500 though, as the "first 500 orders" text is gone.

Even $60 for 4 CDs seems kinda high to me. In contrast, the 4 CD Petty set coming out next week is $23, the R.E.M. 9 disc set coming in October is $60. I have plenty of time to think about it, but $15 per disc seems high considering I have most of the material. Maybe if the DVD was included in that set, but nowadays all videos are on YouTube or Vevo anyway.
