Yeah, but dude, you need to acknowledge he was talking specifically about voting for his opponent, a black dude.
I am making zero assumptions in stating the GOP nominee for FL gov used a racially sensitive word regarding a topic directly related to a black man

People play the racism card a lot these days (much of it is indeed warranted, btw), so it make sense to be a little skeptical like Hugh is here.
But in this case, I think it's pretty obvious what's going on.www.myspace.com0 -

DeSantis has been a huge Maga Trump lap dog. This kind of thing actually plays well with that 30% deplorable base that Trump stokes every day. It's bizarro world with those people. So, yeah, I would not put this past him..www.myspace.com0 -

#bebetterAt all. In any case, isn't it prudent to err on the side of caution when accusing someone of such an act, when you are going on nothing but pure conjecture and the fact that you happen to think "monkeying up" something is a weird term?? Again, anything's possible, but given the fact that saying such a thing as a racial slur only serves to predictably hurt this guy, I think it makes more sense to give him the benefit of the doubt until there is a real reason not to, i.e. a history of throwing out random, sideways, subtle racial slurs like that. Honestly, what you think happened seems like the most unrealistic possibility. Not impossible, but unlikely...... But hey, if you're right, that is some really sly pathological racism the likes of which I've never actually encountered.

I just think it seems a little paranoid to automatically assume it was a racial slur.

Surely you're not suggesting that something Fox News said is suddenly a valid source because you happen to agree with their conjecture in this case? ... And Gillium's take on it isn't any more helpful. Obviously the guy running against him is going to take it and run.
You know, the main issue here is that, if people let this go without any "but maybe it wasn't", then the "other side" will do the same thing against some innocent lefty and nobody can say a damn word about it. It's a bad precedent to be setting IMHO. There are all kinds of other blatant examples of what this guy is being accused of with that comment - why not go after those instead?
