Backlash would never make him resign, no matter how strong it was, and there would absolutely be people who would defend him IMO. You have too much faith in some of these scumbags I think! I also think you have too much faith in everyone else, actually. Trump using the N-word would not be the topic of every discussion, any more than him being a sexual predator has been. I still find it disturbing that some think this though. That him using the N-word is somehow the worst thing he ever would have done, and that that, of all things, would be the one unforgivable thing that they couldn't manage to lie and manipulate their ways out of in terms of public and political perception/reception.
