Last Flag Flying - It was okay, but lacked something.
We just saw this one.  I thought it was great.  Really a bold, almost a daring film.  One of my favorites this year.

Death Bed: The Bed That Eats (1977)

really bad "horror" film from the late 70's.  MST3K worthy.  Really more funny than scary.

    Hearts Beat Loud.

Really enjoyed  this movie. In the vein of Once, Begin Again, etc.
Plus my cousin has a song  featured in the movie.

Momma Mia, dear lord, that was hard to get through.  I'm not a fan of singing throughout a movie, but apparently others are, ergo the sequel

A nice take on the apocalypse genre. More of a love story with survival elements than just a plain old survival. Only 2 main characters in the entire film, with one brief supporting role. Probably one of the more realistic end of the world stories I’ve seen. Bold choice for the ending.

This sounds great but without subtitles, I doubt I'll get to watch it.  Hate it when there are no subtitles!

    It’s in English, American actors.
Or are you a person that watches all movies with subtitles regardless?

Jurassic Park - Still love the original, though the CGI doesn't hold up as well anymore in comparison. Love the early Samuel Jackson appearance in this movie before he completely blew up with Die Hard 3 and Pulp Fiction. That reminds me, I really like him in Loaded Weapon 1. Back when Emilio Estevez was still considered funny.  I have to re-watch that movie. Anyway, probably end up watching the next 2 because they're all on Netflix this month.

Ant Man and the Wasp. Fun and funny movie. The special effects are amazing. Marvel just knocking them out of the park.

I thought the first one was much better than the second. Soldado seemed to just exist solely for the purpose of getting the audience to the third installment. There were major plot-holes in it, and they left the fate of the main character completely up in the air and unanswered at the end of the film to instead focus on setting up the beginning of the third with a new character developing. The action in this one was also more unrealistic which is one of the things that made the first one so great and gritty.

I'd personally rank Sheridan's films (strongest first) as such Hell or High Water, Sicario, Wind River, Soldado

2004, but yep that one. Never saw it because I had heard it was way overrated. It definitely had the Gladiator envy going on with some of the battle scenes. Liked seeing Sean Bean in it though. He's great in everything.
