I have a question about guns

Excuse my ignorance in the matter but, regarding images of tweets we see fairly often in these threads, how do we know they are real. I mean, they can be easily faked, right? I'm guessing it happens often. Yes? No?

The Behar tweet is fake. Please do some research before you post such things to try and prove "both sides".

It's a hopeless situation...0 -
PJ_Soul said:All it takes to confirm they're real is to go on Twitter and check if the Tweet exists. And if it's been deleted, there are plenty of mainstream media sources that you can trust about whether or not a Tweet is real. But good job Brian for asking, because as it turns out, this Tweet was NOT real... I forgot to check!
But my comments about these kinds of comments still stands.
Not to distract too much from the subject at hand (because, lord knows, we rarely have threads about guns on AMT), but I get the feeling that one result of social media and internet "news" is that we are living in a world fraught with false information. Sometimes I have to ask, WTF is really going on in the world? Is it all smoke an mirrors and deception?
Oh how wearisome to be such a cynic! Sorry!

I think there's a difference between not being saddened by the news that someone died, and saying "hey, I hope this person I don't like dies!" In my opinion, that's in pretty poor taste, no matter who it is.my small self... like a book amongst the many on a shelf0 -

PJ_Soul said:Well, yeah. I think the fact that we're living in a world fraught with false information is one of the biggest stories of our time, right? Fake news is a very real thing... Not Trump's fake news. His fake news is real news, lol. But actual fake news is rampant, and there is almost always a sinister purpose behind it... just like that fake tweet most of us just fell for (at least it made us think about a valid issue I guess).
And *ahem!* That's 2 L's to you Brian!

I guess you can all her a spokesperson, but with 3 million views a night and 8 million weekly listeners (I don't know how that is measured, is 8 million weekly mean about 1.6 daily?). Either way, it is a very small percentage of the conservative population who listens to her.
I was responded to the comment I quoted above, and that really is just ignorant to state or believe that based off of what 1 person says,
Should I take the dumbest thing said by some liberal commentator and apply that to everyone who didn't vote for Trump? I certainly wouldn't do that.0 -

PJ_Soul said:Yeah, but why should it matter if it's in poor taste? So what? It's the same with everyone being offended all the time... SO WHAT?
Because the world just keeps getting more and more vile, the more that people don't care that they are saying things that are in poor taste.
It's like that guy (we all know one) who says whatever the hell insulting stuff he wants, and justifies it by saying "I just call it the way I see it". Yeah, that's true, and the attitude makes him a jerk. The world is better when we don't say every stupid thing that pops into our heads.my small self... like a book amongst the many on a shelf0 -
