Team Rory/JT on the heckling and fan behavior.  Tournaments sound like they're all turning into the waste management.

I go to golf tournaments and I drink, probably too much.  Know what I don't do? Act like a jerkoff to people who are literally working.

Agreed.  It seems to be getting worse and worse every year.  How big of an asshole do you have to be to yell out "it's in the hole" after every shot?!?
It is.  It used to be Baba Booey here and there. That was annoying enough.  Now every single t shot it's that, mashed potatoes, Saturday's are for the boys, or some other nonsense.  God I hate barstool.  Idiots who feel the need to hear their own voice.

Get in the bunker is unacceptable.  Saying a player's wife's name is unacceptable.  Yelling for the sake of yelling is unacceptable.

Yeah, are you specifically looking for a resort? If so, we typically have headed down to the Virginia/Maryland area for those.  I am sure there are some in PA but not as familiar.

If you are okay with an area with a high density of good courses, I can give some advice about the Philly area.  Basically if you are around the area, play Glen Mills.
I was going to throw out Glen Mills as a suggestion too.

Some others in that area that I like are Broad Run and Loch Nairn.

    Some good Pocono-area courses are.....

    -Jack Frost Golf Club
    -Mount Airy Casino and Resort
    -Skytop Lodge
    -Country Club of the Poconos
Have heard really good things about Skytop and Broad Run.  Not sure how I haven't played Broad Run yet.

Also, Scotland Run in Jersey is a course I like a lot.
Skytop is nice. Resort type of place where some holes are near condos and others go through the woods. Some cool elevated tee-offs where you can grip it and rip it. FAST as lightning greens too. Fastest of any Pennsylvania course I've played.

Broad Run is really nice, but it's also one of the hardest courses I've played.

Gilbersville Golf Club is a really nice 27-hole course in that area worth checking out as well.

Broad Run is a glorious. How does Glen Mills stack up compare to it? I have heard nothing but good things about that and also Sky Top.

Might be playing a course called Conklin Players Club in a couple months. It's in NY just over the boarder. Supposed to be really good.

Applecross Country Club is nice too. It's out past Downingtown.

Yeah, the occasional baba booey is fine.....I'm a huge Stern fan so I always chuckle a bit when I hear it.  Mashed potatoes is so fucking stupid.  And the shit yelling about bunkers and players wives is ridiculous.

Barstool isn't all bad...pardon my take is prob my favorite podcast.  Big Cat and PFT are both hilarious....check out their podcast sometime.  I bet you'd like it....it's not what you'd expect at all from Barstool.  But yeah, there's definitely a huge "bro" scene that goes along with it and the saturdays are for the boys shit is beyond lame.

Lol that's Binghamton basically.  My hood.  Conklin Sports Park right down the street.  Spent many a many hours there from 4 years old to probably 22.  Driving range, batting cages, mini golf, basketball, ice cream.  Players club down the street.  A nice course.  Conklin sucks though.

Some good golf in that area. En Joie is where the BC Open was hosted (now a senior tournament). Saw Tiger there in 96. Lots and lots of good golf there. Lot's of the Freds (Funk and Couples). Got drilled by a ball hit by Peter Jacobsen. Felt like a serious bee sting.  Sucked when it was opposite the British and was the death of the tournament.

Hiwatha links is another solid one.

Ely Park.  That's my muni.  Probably my favorite course in the world.  Not necessarily for the course, which is a solid layout for a muni but So. Many. Memories.  Hundreds of rounds, gambling on the practice area and when around 18 or so, the bar.  Helped out with carts.  Good times.  That and the 9 hole St Lawrence State Park track at the Thousand Islands.  That was me and my old man's spot.  9 holes followed by a hot dog and a coke then out on the boat to ski and fish.

Golf is the best. Ah nostalgia

Yeah, my buddy's friend lives up north of Scranton. So its like 45 minutes or so from him. We might go up there for a weekend in a couple months or so and check it out.

    Think I've heard of Hiwatha.

I always play the same 5 or 6 courses. Want to make an effort to switch things up a bit this year.

Get some spiedies while you are there. JP will attest to their goodness. Also, I am sure you can find plenty of oxy and heroin from what I understand...

The other thing I got nostalgic walking home from work....walking the course. Miss that a lot

Yeah, I think DJ wins, so I’ll go DJ, bubba, JT, Phil, Rory. Regardless of history, I can’t go Phil over JT.

Spieth has been laying low in PGA mediocrity.  Would not be surprised if he has a great week at the Masters.  I think there are too many players peaking right now though that have a lot more talent than he does when their best games are compared to each other.

Was thinking about him when I laid out my top 5. Obviously those grounds do something to him and he just clicks, but I can’t get over the putting. How can you get you putter going on those fast greens....

Admit it--golf is more fun when this clown is in the mix....if for nothing else, than it gives you guys someone to root against. I cannot wait for the Masters!

Bubba sucks.  Stop crying. You won a match play golf tournament, a 2nd win of the year.

I do dig pro tracer on his shots.

Also, no one should support a golfer who plays a pink ball in a PGA tour event.  How did that money grab work out for him?

What sucks about Conklin? Or do you mean the surrounding area? Because I think that's a great course (and I also like saying "Straight Outta Conklin" when I go there). Last summer, I eagled the par-5 9th hole after hitting the hybrid-shot to end all hybrid-shots on my second shot to leave myself a 5-footer for eagle.

Hiawatha and En Joie are nice too. It's been a while since I played En Joie so I can't really remember the particulars about it. But I played Hiawatha for the first time this past summer and really enjoyed it.

ALRIGHT FINE I MISSED THE FIVE-FOOTER FOR EAGLE ON NUMBER 9 AT CONKLIN AND SETTLED FOR BIRDIE THUS WASTING THE GREATEST HYBRID SHOT I'LL EVER HIT IN MY LIFE.

I too have missed a 5 footer for eagle on a driven par 4.
