Ugh honestly dont care about using mobile tickets, but would love the option to get a physical ticket after the show somehow. I have a collection to keep up!!
I saw Dispatch at Forest Hills and got in with Smartphone. When they scan I recieved "receipt" similiar to ticket stub that had band, venue and date on it.

So people who added memberships after it was announced will be eligible for the Seattle lottery? It was announced 1/22, but membership cutoff is 1/23?

I think they allowed this because they are confident they are going to meet the fan club demand.

  • To clarify: there is a fanclub pre-sale starting on 2/7 but it's really lottery where we enter and then the drawing happens.  Separate from that with that there is this new ticketmaster fan thing that we can register now for but so can anyone else (not exclusive to fanclub) - you can register for that now.  And that allows you to access a different pre-sale where you'll go in an attempt to get tickets.  Correct?

So this sounds like an all 10C show?!?
No, there is a  TM verified fan sale plus a regular TM general sale later.

Some venues print out a little stub with your seat location when they scan your phone at the door (at least the United Center does), but there are others that dont and its all electronic and you show the usher your phone.  But with GA and wristbands that's another electronic element they have to deal with, instead of the old markered up/whole punched ticket, so not sure...

I like that people can't possibly sell both their tickets on the day of the show now. That's cut down on last minute scalping a lot.

Any idea if more dates will be announced or are these all the 'Away' shows that will be added this summer/fall tour?  I was hoping the rumors of a few dates in Philly would be correct???

Please don't be mad at me for holding up the line but I have requested my ticket number to be sent in morse code to my rotary dial phone and it may take a minute to play it back for security

I hate ticketmaster but it's the best way to go
Agreed. Especially after the Tickets.com fiasco from Fenway 2016, where they accidentally released the tickets a day early. Many people thought they had tickets, only to have the sales voided the next day. While that is what they had to do, it sucks that many of those people probably never got tickets the next day, since they relied on funds that were not refunded in time for the actual sale.

Yup, ticketmaster is a monopolistic bastard, but at least it knows what its doing. I trust TM to not fuck anything up.

I will say this, I like the new method for electronic ticket delivery, but I will miss the excited anticipation of walking up to will call on the day of the show and not knowing where I was sitting yet. It was like opening a present on Christmas when you scored a great seat!

Conversely, knowing where you will be sitting by early July (anticipated electronic ticket delivery time frame) for a September show at Fenway will sure help with planning and entry to venue. Overall, 2 thumbs up!

Call me an idiot, but I didn't see ticket price in the e-mail/info. I assume higher than 2016, but did anyone see this info anywhere?

Problem with that is they'll be 15K people flocking up front to get a tambourine where at a Phish concert they'd all be dancing.

So not trying to stir the pot but anyone notice the Chicago Theatre in the announcement video, wonder if they're hinting that they'll do a show or two there? Only 10C?

Are you serious? If you are... no, it doesn't look like it. What about the Luddites who still have flip phones?
funny cause all this time i thought it was the people who have smart phones were the luddites.
smart phones only encourage people to not talk to each other.

Lol, I dunno - I'm not one of those people and still love my smartphone! But I'm pretty sure that "luddite" specifically refers to people who are anti-machinery/technology and resist a movement towards it, so those who resist the smartphone are definitely the luddites. ;)
