America's Gun Violence

We are talking about gun shows and their tendancy toward catering to extremists.
 It's relevant.Monkey Driven, Call this Living?0

There is nothing weird about a WWII buff having some Nazi artifacts in their WWII collection. There IS something very weird about some gun nut buying Nazi crap because he thinks it's awesome (and I think there is probably a large number of people like that). Same goes for Confederate stuff. Context is everything.

I agree with the first part of your comment. The second is just speculation and labeling. I'm sure there are plenty of non gun nut Nazi lovers and sympathisers.PJ_Soul said:There is nothing weird about a WWII buff having some Nazi artifacts in their WWII collection. My comment doesn't exclude all the non-gun nuts who are Nazi lovers. Of course there are also neo-nazis and sympathizers who aren't gun nuts.tbergs said:

Yeah I have ww2 weapons from Russia, England, Germany and USA. I also have a few bring home items that are German: belt buckles, pins, bayonets and a rifle. Kind of weird knowing that an actually nazi fighting my grandfather held these but i appreciate it because it is a huge piece of world history.mace1229 said:Yes. Many WWII collectors will collect items from USA< England, Russia and even Germany. I see nothing wrong with that if it is being collected as a historical artifact. I personally wouldnt care to own anything connected to Nazi, but if it is for a historical WWII collection I dont see anything wrong with it.I'll ride the wave where it takes me......0

No reason for that weapon to exist. You can't hunt with it and I sure as hell wouldn't defend my family with that piece of crap.Thirty Bills Unpaid said:

I'm waiting for the NRA to come out in support of weaponized drones. 3-6 shot versions to start with and then high capacity ones after they've convinced everyone it's your second amendment right.09/15/1998 & 09/16/1998, Mansfield, MA; 08/29/00 08/30/00, Mansfield, MA; 07/02/03, 07/03/03, Mansfield, MA; 09/28/04, 09/29/04, Boston, MA; 09/22/05, Halifax, NS; 05/24/06, 05/25/06, Boston, MA; 07/22/06, 07/23/06, Gorge, WA; 06/27/2008, Hartford; 06/28/08, 06/30/08, Mansfield; 08/18/2009, O2, London, UK; 10/30/09, 10/31/09, Philadelphia, PA; 05/15/10, Hartford, CT; 05/17/10, Boston, MA; 05/20/10, 05/21/10, NY, NY; 06/22/10, Dublin, IRE; 06/23/10, Northern Ireland; 09/03/11, 09/04/11, Alpine Valley, WI; 09/11/11, 09/12/11, Toronto, Ont; 09/14/11, Ottawa, Ont; 09/15/11, Hamilton, Ont; 07/02/2012, Prague, Czech Republic; 07/04/2012 & 07/05/2012, Berlin, Germany; 07/07/2012, Stockholm, Sweden; 09/30/2012, Missoula, MT; 07/16/2013, London, Ont; 07/19/2013, Chicago, IL; 10/15/2013 & 10/16/2013, Worcester, MA; 10/21/2013 & 10/22/2013, Philadelphia, PA; 10/25/2013, Hartford, CT; 11/29/2013, Portland, OR; 11/30/2013, Spokane, WA; 12/04/2013, Vancouver, BC; 12/06/2013, Seattle, WA; 10/03/2014, St. Louis. Worth noting that German soldier is not necessarily synonymous with Nazi, and when you are talking about memorabilia, the difference is significant.Monkey Driven, Call this Living?0

Nazi 'memorabilia' belongs in a museum. Along with confederate statues. Not for display as part of someone's proud collection.0

            I don't know.
My buddy had a German knife given to him by his grandfather who served. It was an interesting piece. It sparked conversation every time he displayed it to us. He never bragged about it and was the farthest thing from a Nazi as one could be.
It was just a piece of history for him. The knife carried much significance in a few areas. We never felt it was weird or wrong."My brain's a good brain!"0

This could be one of the most un-American posts I have ever read. Now we are going to dictate what historical items people own? I have a signed bible by Robert E. Lee...should I burn it?CM189191 said:Nazi 'memorabilia' belongs in a museum. Along with confederate statues. jfc. I didn't say make law mandating as such. Just that it's a more appropriate place for that stuff. Take off the blinders bud! History is history, don't destroy it, preserve it and make sure it doesn't happen again.CM189191 said:

 And thus, the "museum" suggestion....
Because holding it in private collections does nothing to prevent similar episodes from happening again.
