    I don't see any possible way that a studio version of that song would match what has been established live. Some songs are just very tricky to pull off in a studio setting, and I can easily see Of The Earth being one. 
    I lovr Last Soldier. I've loved it since it was played at Bridge all those years ago. I've wanted it on every studio album and annual single since in studio form. But, I'm not sure a studio version would add to it. I want studio versions to add something to a song. Of the Earth is a busy song musically and you'd probably end up with a watered down BOB hack job on a decent live song (my comments about it being bad are lyric centered. The music is great). At this point, it's probably bound to meet expectations. Kind of like the OK Computer out takes from this year. Man o War is one of my favorite songs of all time, but I built it up to a point where if I ever heard the studio version, it couldn't possibly match what was built up in my head.

    Well I mean they've had a busy year touring the world and releasing a new album.......oh wait.....

    I'm a bit surprised it's still hanging out there.  But I've stopped caring about it after several years of waiting 7-10 months.

    I always pictured Of the Earth sounding like Solsbury Hill based on jeff's initial description.  He was slightly off :lol:

    Much older. Dates back at least to the 2005 sessions for the self titled album. 


    Also, it's not very good. Capturing that jam part in the studio could be quite difficult. 


    But mainly it is not very good. 
    Yeah, I was referring to when it was first played/heard. We might get it on Lost Dogs 2 someday, but at this point a studio version on a new album/club single is no more than a pipe dream. And frankly, I'm fine with that. I'd rather hear something else they've been hiding or something new.

    I've been here almost twenty years and I could not care less when I get a vinyl single. Vinyl production is insanely backlogged. 
    How exactly have you been ripped off? Where is this punk rock ethics claim?

    I am all for saying something when something isn't running smoothly here or it is unfair to members, but this isn't the case here. We are talking about a vinyl single. Do you want it for two songs? Do you want it for the fact that it's a collectors item? I just don't see why people are so upset over a record and making countless posts and threads about it. We will get them whenever they're ready, and five minutes later the songs will be out for free to the world. 

    And in regards to paying to post here. Well, I like that if someone is posting here they have an invested interest in the conversation- not just stopping by for the millionth picture of a stickman tattoo.

    My favorite line in that post is, "ripping kids off". God damnit, I WISH enough kids were into Pearl Jam to rip off. I'd be interested in the actual percent, but I'd assume it's over 90% of 10C would be considered adults. Maybe well over that number. We're adult enough to make a decision to invest in this organization, and if we don't like how business is done- we are old enough to decide to invest that money elsewhere. But no kids, or adults, are being ripped off.

    Some of us paid for our membership in January 2016. Those of us who did are now closer to paying our 2019 (yes, 2019!) membership than when we paid for 2016.

    I personally don't care as long as I get what I'm promised. I've been here long enough to know how late 10C can be on absolutely anything.  On the same token I completely understand those who've grown a little impatient.

    Anyone else have a feeling the 2016 Christmas single will include a track from Wrigley '16? Maybe that's why it's taking so long to ship out? Once the CD, vinyl & film of Let's Play Two is out, then ship out the 2016 Christmas single.

    Makes sense but nothing really stands out from those shows though as a single really to me. Maybe I've Got a Feeling would fit the bill.
