Holiday single

I think they only way I'd get frustrated is if they stop doing them. Otherwise, it takes however long it takes. As long as it happens, I'm chill.

They're waiting for me to make room for it.

My point was that they had a test pressing of it at least 5 months ago. Either it's in a big warehouse somewhere waiting for god knows what, or there was a change of plans.HughFreakingDillon said:it's not the club. it's the band. one of the guys in one of the newsletters mentioned it as such. he said that Kelly Curtis reminds them around August to start thinking about it.

I think we will have a nice surprise this year, something we don't expect. Maybe a new song with all that gone on in the last year. Who knows maybe they scrapped the original idea and that caused a delay.

And it takes them a year to put it out.Or the tenclub could think ahead and plan these things out a little. "If PJ don't do something by september so we can press the vinyl by october, we always have these two B-sides or this cool alternative take or this weird things to put out instead"
"Mostly I think that people react sensitively because they know you’ve got a point"0 -
but the club has zero authority (I'm assuming) to just put something out that the band hasn't authorized.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

I don't have a problem with the band taking as much time as they need to release what they wanna release but if they are going to charge us a highly increased rate for membership when they band doesn't really tour that often to make the ticket buying opportunities that frequent and we barely get any info on the band from the 10C. At least give us some info on what's going on!?! It kinda feels like they don't care and know that people are going to keep throwing $$ at them regardless of what they do or don't do...Pine Knob, MI Lollapalooza 1992 / Soldier Field, Chicago 1995 / Savage Hall, Toledo 1996 / Palace, Detroit 1998 / Palace, Detroit 2000 / Pine Knob, MI 2003 / Showbox, Seattle 2004 / MSG, NYC 2008 / Key Arena I & II, Seattle 2009 / Eddie Vedder Beacon, NYC 2011 / Eddie Vedder Benaroya, Hall Seattle 2011 / Barclays, Brooklyn I &II 2013 / Wells Fargo, Philadelphia II 2013 / Wuhlheide, Berlin, Germany 2014 / Wells Fargo, Philadelphia 1 2016 / Madison Square Garden, NYC 2 2016 / Wrigley 2, Chicago 2016/ Fenway 1, Boston 2018/0

Exactly. When they don't tour for several years at a time (or very limited, sporadic shows), and the single is later and later, and the "newsletters" are really nothing more than product advertisements, what exactly is the return on our membership cost? $40 seems a bit much for a vinyl 7" and a printed newsletter, when there are no shows or new music being released. Seems like the only benefit these days is the "opportunity" to buy high-priced, limited edition merch, that they would not sell much of outside of the Ten Club anyway.H.Chinaski said:I don't have a problem with the band taking as much time as they need to release what they wanna release but if they are going to charge us a highly increased rate for membership when they band doesn't really tour that often to make the ticket buying opportunities that frequent and we barely get any info on the band from the 10C. I've been a member since '95, and I'll keep paying my analog fee as long as there's an indication that the band is still together, and at some point, will be recording and performing, but it is getting frustrating and harder to justify each year. They haven't played my town (Las Vegas) in 11 years. I saw them in L.A. in 2013, but other than that, there hasn't really been any opportunity for me to see them - and it's not in my budget to travel across or out of the country on whim. Here's hoping for something in 2018!Osaka, Japan (2/21/95), San Diego (7/10/98), Las Vegas (10/22/00), San Diego (10/25/00), Las Vegas (6/6/03), Las Vegas (7/6/06), Los Angeles (7/9/06), VH1 Rock Honors (7/12/08), Ed Solo (7/8/11), Ed Solo (11/1/12), Los Angeles (11/23/13)0 -
May have got a couple of things wrong-and I'm making the assumption that the test pressing shown in the email is the actual holiday single for this year. It was May, not March.HughFreakingDillon said:

I just really really really really want new music from this band. I'm sure we won't get it on an annual single, but one can hope.Your boos mean nothing to me, for I have seen what makes you cheer0

This will prob be the last time I pay my 40. I'll go back to digital and just buy the 7" from the shop. I certainly don't care about the deep newsletter anymore and have never gotten one of the 10c shirts included. Either way I'm all about the vinyl releases, studio work and live shows, so that's why I'm here. Maybe I should pick up my tshirt though now that I think about it. HmmmI'm like an opening band for your mom.0

Ha ha I've done the same thing. Every year I think its not even worth it as another "yard work" shirt. The luggage tags were a cool idea, especially since I travel a lot, but they dont even reference PJ anywhere on them so that good idea kind of blows.RoleModelsinBlood31 said:This will prob be the last time I pay my 40. I've realized before Id save money by just buying the single from the shop, but for now I'll keep chugging along with the full $40.

I also dont get why it seems so secretive. They use to announce well ahead about new albums and work coming, and now we dont know about shows or new albums and apparently even the x-mas single is a secret.0

probably got sick and tired of the bitching and moaning when things don't happen the way they announced it.mace1229 said:I also dont get why it seems so secretive. There is no new album. There are no shows. What are they supposed to announce? They just said have your address updated for Shipping the single. Nothing is new with any of this. The only new part is that the band is only a part-time band at this point (and that is being generous)mace1229 said:I also dont get why it seems so secretive. What if one of the tracks is the new studio version of "Out of Sand" and this is why it is so delayed? Yes I realize it was released with the ThirdMan vault but that was a demo version and not everyone purchased or had the option of purchasing a digital copy.
