    Absolutely and he stepped on the massive Foxconn announcement. Wisconsin could have become a red state forever after that.

    Right and transgendered in the military is only a one year old policy that most people didn't even have on their radar screen. The AMT was not offended by the seven years they were banned under Obama so I am not buying the outrage that it's offended today. This is just another one of the phony Trump is Hitler for returning to the original Obama policy. My answer above is a real answer on the issue. Everybody else's stance is emotional "my team is better" vomit.

    So, please explain to us, how did "most" democrats feel about those three policies?
    They didn't seem to mind them at all. Obama included.
    That's like saying everyone supported segregation because nothing changed for decades. As was mentioned, the goal is forward thinking and progress, not backward idiocy based on a minor hit to insurance costs. Do you really believe that's what this is about? For a guy who drools over any woman with an enhancement surgery, he seems to have an issue when it doesn't fit his ideal.

    And in exactly what way did Obama have a similar stance, not that it even matters because he pushed the policy forward to allow them. Never had to even broach it or work towards it, but he did and he sure as hell didn't send his directive out via tweet.

    Do you think your employer's CEO\President should notify everyone of policy changes via social media? Or is that just cutting edge?
    I don't love how it was announced but as per above I'm open to the possibility that it was a necessary reversal. If this was the military's recommendation and if the accomodation requirements were for some reason detrimental then the change is not completely irrational even if it goes against our instincts and overall respect for transgendered rights.

    Of course you believe that's how it will turn out...you have to. But it is not corporate welfare or a grant of tax dollars...the company will be given a tax break. Do you understand the difference? They won't have to give some of their money away to be wasted by unaccountable bureaucrats in exchange for investing in a state and employing more people then a government program ever could.

    I'm not sure what you mean? I could be wrong but I don't believe he took a stance on transgendered in the military specifically. I am also not sure that the pentagon was caught off guard...maybe on the timing of the announcement but not necessarily the policy.

The AMT was not offended by the seven years they were banned under Obama so I am not buying the outrage that it's offended today.     Well then you didn't read the above because the "right thing" on human rights is obvious. What is being questioned is what is the "right thing" with respect to military readiness in a life or death situation. That "right thing" has not been fully fleshed out even though I believe it lines up with the human rights position.

    Whether you agree or not with the policy, it's impossible to agree with the roll out strategy.  Trump has a habit of sabotaging his own policies with his impulsiveness and vulgarian tendencies.  Mattis was on fucking vacation for God's sake.

    Well the least I can do is be entertaining. Most of the posts on here are absolutely unstimulating as of late. We're talking zero entertainment value...as close to boring as it comes.     So now it appears Reince is a target along with Sessions. Spicer, Reince, Sessions, and the high level communications staffer who got fired yesterday are all RNC folks. Trump is getting bad advice. I don't think it's a stretch to say a line in the sand is being drawn for Republicans. Whoever is advising the President should tell him that he needs Senate Republicans very much if he wants any hope of being re-elected. The Senate is a good old boy's club with life long membership. Sessions is their guy. Firing him over break would be DISASTROUS to that relationship. Then you go after RNC guys Spicer and Reince?!? There's some deep loyalty there all over Washington to a guy like Reince. Why? Because Reince can raise the fucking money like a champ. Honestly, I bet that's the only reason he's still around. For raising money for re-election. Or, perhaps, legal fund donations. I don't know the disclosure laws for that in regard to legal fees, but if there's a way to make it work- they will. And Reince would be perfect for that sell. The catch is, he needs to be the Chief still when doing that. I guarantee the comment that big donors will ask is, "what the hell is going on? Who is running the show?". Reince, as Chief of Staff, can assure them that he is still very involved and play the "if we weren't making a difference, would I stick around here?" card. That eases the donor and they send a check. If Reince leaves, a lot of loyal donors gobwith him. No matter where the money goes.

    I'm not sure what you mean? I could be wrong but I don't believe he took a stance on transgendered in the military specifically. I am also not sure that the pentagon was caught off guard...maybe on the timing of the announcement but not necessarily the policy. 
    He basically just fired every transgendered service member via tweet and you're unsure on whether Trump took a stance on the issue? Where do you get your news from? Do you need PJFan to post the Tweet? The military asked for a six month extension of the review period. They didn't ask for a ban. Caught of guard. McMaster supported the policy and the Rand Corporation study determined that the costs were negligible. Trump's blowing more shit out his ass and you seem confused as to Trump's policy?

    Very strange, then, that the body of information on the effect of transgender service personnel on military readiness seemed fairly well fleshed out before the decision was taken during Obama's presidency and there's been no evidence brought forward since then to contradict that, yet suddenly republicans find a way to claim otherwise. And given that Trump's first stated reason was medical costs, not actual military readiness, your argument is a red herring. Estimated costs are a minimal part of the military budget, even the medical budget. Trump is appealing to his conservative base, plain and simple. There's no other justification for it.

    Trump didn't need money and spit on the old boys of the senate throughout his campaign. You're operating from the old playbook and don't recognize that this allows Trump to run as the outsider once again. That is his only asset...it is his only play. Once he becomes an establishment politician he is done. This type of behaviour ensures he gets to fight again in 2020.
