The Cruelty and Cynicism of Trump’s Transgender Military Ban

Nearly a half century ago, young Donald Trump—a Wharton graduate, and an avid player of squash, football, and tennis—scored a 1-Y medical deferment. Hundreds of thousands of young men were being deployed to Vietnam. Trump had some bone spurs. He then limped happily into his father’s real-estate business without delay.

I hope someone takes that ban to the Supreme Court or something.

I notice nobody really talks about Sarah Huckabee Sanders, now that she's press secretary. I think she is just horrible - I may have actually liked Spicer better, lol. He got irritated, but Sanders just looks bored and like she this the fact that anyone is asking any questions at all is super uninteresting and irrelevant. I see people more enthused about what's going on in human resources workshops. And what she says is absolutely fucking useless. It's almost like she is going out of her way to be unlikable IMO. I think this choice is bizarre. Surely there is SOMEONE who is a good choice for this role?? Is this a reflection of Trump's horrible decisions? Or a reflection of the lack of decent, qualified people willing to work for him?

It's absolutely both at this point.  Plus considering how he turns on anyone that works for him that is not in his family, why the hell would you?

Buyer's remorse is settling in. He'll keep his 35% but he's untenable for members of the house and senate except in the most gerrymandered districts and deepest red of red states. I can only imagine what folks like Pence, Sessions and Tillerson are saying privately to their networks.

Follow the money, from Russia with love and a PTAPE, all the way to impeachment. Jared, dear boy, is there peace in the Middle East yet? Not yet, dear boy? Offer some, hush, money and see what you can get Putin to do. Now bring me my robe, it's nap time, dear boy.

I'm sorry, you think Preet and Lindsey are wrong?  I think you may have the finger pointed in the wrong direction.
Preet dead wrong...Lindsays opinion can't be wrong technically since he uses the word inappropriate.
Any poli sci gurus know more than a US attorney?
A unitary executive doesn't mean they have limitless power.  The DOJ didn't even exist when the Constitution was written.  It's the nation's chief law enforcement tool.  It's not Trump's personal vendetta squad.  You actually still have to meet the standards of prosecution in order to prosecute.  Care to explain how Preet is wrong vs. just stating it as if it's a fact?  I'm pretty sure he's a helluva lot more qualified than you considering he held the most prestigious US Attorney post in the country.
preet is banking on people being gullible and naive and trusting his sour grapes comments.
for those that don't know, I'm of the opinion that the presidency has gained too much power over the last 18 years.
anyone have any thoughts on why Congress let the office of independent counsel die in 1999? why would Congress let a very powerful check and balance to the president expire? an office for Congress independent of the AG and DoJ?  if it were still around today, we wouldn't be having any conversation about Trump firing Sessions and orMueller, we wouldn't be talking about a president trying to "dictate prosecution". maybe preet knows
None of these criticisms have anything to do with your central point... evidently that Preet and Lindsey are wrong and Trump can prosecute his political enemies.  Try addressing that point rather than trying to throw curve balls.
just to be clear, I can't prove an opinion on "inappropriate" wrong, nor can I make anyone blindly believing US attorneys (or the presidents tweets) any less stupid. there's so much stupid going around I can't type straight.
I can and will prove your idol preet dead wrong but anytime I ask (sometimes you directly) to debate or comment on "chapter and verse" I get Phil Collins drum kitted.

To be honest.  Since this online twitter ban of transgendered in the military my first thought was that for each state that disagreed would entice Pearl Jam to play in it and spawn a multi-country tour.

I nearly barf every time he mentions God. I'm not offended as a Godly person, because I'm an agnostic. But the fact that this asshole lived nearly 70 years living the exact opposite of a Godly life, decides he wants to run for President, says stupid comments like above, and people believe him to be a Godly person and start having paintings of God standing by him, etc.
It is infuriating how dumb people are by falling for this crap just by mentioning God.

Sorry for the rant. It's just frustrating.

^^^^ This x1000. He embodies the antithesis of Christian teachings -- thrice-married, worship of money and of himself, no sense of charity, no regard for the poor and suffering, and apparent complete, utter misunderstanding of the "Golden Rule," (hint: It's not about gold-plating everything in sight.). Then there is the greed, the lying, adultery.

Were Jesus alive today, he would be derided by the right as a "SJW." And he was a social revolutionary for his time. Andrew Sullivan distinguishes between Muslims and "Islamists," and in the same way he distinguishes between Christians and "Christianists;" I think we're seeing some of this in action. There are a lot of religious groups that claim to be Christian but whose values and mission appear to run counter to New Testament teachings; that's the only way I can explain the so-called Christian right's tolerance for Agent Orange.

I have observed that people who take their faith and Christ's message seriously have a much less positive view of 45; recall how unpopular he was in Utah. And I know a number of practicing Christians who laughed at the idea that this was the spiritually correct choice; there's nothing Christian about him, they said.
All those who seek to destroy the liberties of a democratic nation ought to know that war is the surest and shortest means to accomplish it.
