I watched The Void (2016) the other day. Not bad actually, although for some of it I kept thinking it was like the writers of the movie had a really elaborate story all worked out, but forgot to tell us most of it, lol. I kept expecting some kind of explanation behind the EXTREMELY strange events that unfolded, but the explanation never came. Still, not a great movie, but not the worst either. I found it pretty entertaining. One thing it really has going for it is that it is almost comically unpredictable.

I watched The Visit on this threads recommendation, and it was pretty good!
It didn't suck, and that's the standard for good horror movies, unfortunately lol

    heard that wasn't too bad?

Saw Pet Sematary tonight.  Hadn't seen it in years.  For the most part still holds up.  There were some cheesy/stupid parts though.  Haven't seen all of King's adaptation movies.  This one I would say is somewhere in the middle.

Caught a double feature of Sleepaway Camp II and III last night in 35 mm.  For the most part cheesy/good slasher film from the late 80'.  Pamela Springsteen stars in these two (yes that's Bruce's sister!).  Have never seen the first one but apparently there's a good twist in it (which i won't spoil in case someone wants to watch it).

Can't believe you havent seen the first. Thats a classic with a complete WTF mind-blowing ending...especially for that time. Hell, even still today.

Just watched the Void on Netflix.
Mediocre homage to 80's horror, mainly John Carpenter films(The Thing, Mouth of Madness to name a few)
Enjoyed the practical FX, but the story and acting were both all over the place.

I liked Dead Birds, only because I'd never seen a western horror movie before. Amityville Horror was good too and anything Japanese is usually pretty terrifying.

Did you see my review of it above before seeing it? I hope not, since you seem to have found it less humorous than I did, lol. I wouldn't want to be the one who made you think it might be okay, haha.

Shows promise... it's a very well-made trailer anyway, lol. I liked the last Chainsaw movie okay.... I actually have never been the hugest fan of the original movie TBH. It's got its moments, but there is a little too much stupid in it for my taste as well.
