I think it would be safe to say that most would use basic judgment and consider his promise to be to start the ball rolling day 1. Even if the world's perfect health plan that would cure cancer by just be being enrolled in it, it still couldn't be reviewed, voted on, passed and rolled out on day 1.

Last I heard he hasn't met with anyone in Congress to work on legislation to any degree of significance. Granted, it's probably hard for him when you don't understand how laws are made.

Because the existing plan was so great iwith 8 years to plan......
And by the way, he's been president less than 2 months, not 4 years

Democrats are terrified that someone who needs help, isn't getting it.
Republicans are terrified that someone who doesn't need help, is getting it.
Teabaggers are terrified that someone is getting help.
    Trumpeteers are terrified.

This pretty well sums up conservatives: they formulate their worldview on anecdotal stories. Nothing is more anecdotal than winning the lottery.

So a penalty paid to the government for lack of coverage is unacceptable, but a penalty paid to the insurance profiteers is A-OK?
That's exactly what I would expect from the government party that gets paid to dismantle itself.

Only the party of "fiscal responsibility" would propose such a major piece of legislation as the bill to overturn the ACA without having the costs and financials vetted by the CBO. Further proof that Mitch "Failure Is Our Only Option" McConnell and Paul "Eddie Munster" Ryan are in way over their heads. You know why? Because their money was on Hillary winning and they don't know what to do. Like Trump, clueless. Popcorn futures is where it's at. Along with whatever dope BS is smoking futures. BS has really really good shit.

While that seems excessive to put that much in the bill about lottery winners, having a plan to handle those situations is not a bad thing. Granted, they're screwing up the Medicaid system with most of their rules and not expanding coverage, but trying to cover every scenario is not a bad thing at all. Ever read your home insurance, auto policy or credit card terms and benefits? there's lots of crazy stuff in there too

I think a huge problem is that most M.D.'s in the United States are under the mistaken impression they are not "successful" if they don't own a 2 million dollar SUMMER home and multiple pairs of $500 Ferragamo's (Cheaney and Son's are better =) ). The lifestyle they lead is unmatched by doctors anywhere else in the world.

I can agree with that. I'm ok with doctors making a lot of money, and they should since your life is in their hands pretty much, but yeah, I think that there are a lot of doctors that think they should be paid exorbitant amounts of money when they shouldn't. But that's also our culture these days. If you don't have the best and most expensive things, you're just not cool.

^^this is the incorrect stereotype of doctors. While some plastic surgeons in Beverly Hills may live extravagant lifestyles, most real world rural doctors are far from this. Have you researched the average salary of pediatricians, family medicine docs, and internal medicine docs?? Maybe you could research that and realize that your assumptions are eroneous. And while most people complain about student loans for college, compound that with additional 250k medical school loans. Then ask around to see how many hours most docs invest into their practice that they are not able to bill for, like lawyers who bill per 15 min basis. And compare the salaries with professional athletes who make 1-25 million per year and CEOs of hospitals who make millions. And Wall Street hedge fund and bankers. Are you seriously blaming doctors for the exorbitant costs of healthcare because of their salaries?? Which actually can decrease because of reimbursement cuts by CMS and insurances. Granted that lots of doctors order too many tests because of "cover your ass" medical practices of today with all the lawsuits as well as the encouragement from hospitals that profit the most for all the unnecessary workup expenses...

    Cool, obamacarelite.
  • The generalization of doctors is off base. Doctors should be making good cash.

The problem as I understand it in the US is that middle men in the insurance fields have entrenched themselves within the industry and profited.

Chill. No, I'm not blaming them at all for the ridiculously expensive health care costs. And perhaps, I should've worded my response better. I work in healthcare, and doctors salaries are not the reason for high costs. If doctors salaries do contribute to high healthcare costs, it's way, way down the list of reasons. I also didn't say that that's all doctors. I have several friends that are doctors and none of them are like that. I'd say 90% of doctors are in it for the patients. There are, however, doctors who have power trips and believe they should be paid absurd amounts of money. I've seen these people first hand. They're not really in it for patients or to make healthcare better.

In my opinion, doctors and teachers should have the highest salaries of any profession. They work some of the hardest jobs.

Why is it necessary to give massive tax breaks to healthcare executives to repeal ACA?

Because the rich get richer and can afford to golf with Trump at his golf courses...
