Sausage Party. Got a few laughs for some sophomoric humor, but not a particularly good movie.

La La Land - I'd heard such negative things, but it was better than I thought. I didn't think Ryan Gosling was very good though.

i hate this type of story where the couple cant be together cause they have to focus on their careers... as if being together is detrimental and at odds with success. it unsurprisingly reminds me of whiplash in which andrew dumps nicole basically telling her shes a distraction... and in doing so is also clearly telling her shes not, and never will be as important to him as his dream of being a world class drummer.

Moonlight - Well made movie but really dull. Nothing happened. Would never watch this again.
Seen 7 of the best picture nods and liked this the least.

Which one of the 7 did you like best?

I've seen Fences, Lion, Hidden Figures, Hell Or High Water, Arrival, La La Land and Moonlight.
Will watch Hacksaw Ridge and Manchester By The Sea next week when they are available for rent on demand.
Not sure what movie I liked the best as I enjoyed all of them with exception of Moonlight.
I think I enjoyed Arrival or Hell Or High Water the most.
Ok, I have Hell or High Water to watch and watched Arrival the other night, was pretty good..

Just watched Nocturnal Animals, anyone seen it? Thoughts? I thought it was great from the crazy opening credits to the end frame..

Pulled out the Bruce Lee box set for the first time in a decade or more, started (obviously, lol?) with Fists Of Fury.

    Saw it
    Read the book
Loved the book and the movie.
Tom Ford did a good job tying all 3 story lines together.
Liked his first movie as well.

I saw it last night and liked it more than I thought I would. I'm trying to watch all the best picture nods before the awards. I loved Lion and Hidden Figures, liked La La Land a lot. That's what I've seen. I heard Hell or High Water was really really good.
i've seen 5 of the nominations. need to see Fences, Hell or High Water, Lion and Moonlight. Lion and Moonlight i'm hearing great things about.

actually going to an Oscar party at the local indie theater near me. Should be fun

Watched Girl on a Train - I liked it, but thought it may be better. I do like most stuff that Emily Blunt does.

I have Moonlight and Nocturnal Animals to watch , which I'm looking forward too.

Out of the Best Picture nods, Arrival, Hacksaw Ridge and Lion were the ones I enjoyed the most. Still have Moonlight, La La Land, Fences and Hidden Figures to watch. It's a pretty good field this year

The Into Thin Air movie? Loved it. Book was fabulous, but as far as movies go that do justice to the book... this one does.

    Get Out

I liked it, I personally don't think it's as good as some critics are saying, but enjoyable. Some jumpy moments.

The Last Samurai. I usually avoid anything with Tom Cruise in it but this was OK, much better than I expected.

i think it was one of those forgetful movies. I saw it in the theaters and i think i have the dvd but haven't seen it in probably over 10 years

I tend to find almost anything with Cruise not worth watching. I disliked him even before his Scientology and jumping the couch. But this one seemed to be something more than just a star vehicle for him. I read on IMDB that the movie was more popular in Japan than in the U.S. so they must have gotten the details right.

Once is amazing. Glen Hansard is just so good at everything he does.

from lack of personal knowledge i wasn't the biggest glen fan going in...but after watching once i am a bigger fan than i was. great movie.

    Do The Right Thing

I've never seen this before but my interest was piqued a few weeks ago whilst stumbling upon the Air Jordan scene which I had forgot about...

This was a great movie which I think still rings true today.
