Yep. Drapht was one. And I think you mentioned 360 which is, in turn, how I discovered Gossling. I'd love to see her if she ever comes to the States.Natashapearljamfan said:

I'm not sure what she's up to, I haven't heard anything about her for a while. She's going to be at Melbourne's comedy festival in April...If you fancy a trip to AustraliaHesCalledDyer said:

saw him in a tiny local club with no more than 60 people max for both shows on that tour and yup he did the whole cd from start to finish and then played some more!No Coder said:
Was lucky enough to see Paul Kelly tour the Spring and Fall album. Such a great concert. He played the album from start to finish and explained that the concert would be like listening to a record. Side A was falling in Love and Side B was when the relationship encountered problems. After finishing those songs, he did another hour + of his other stuff. One of the best shows I've seen
this clip is for you. there's more i took from those shows(7 songs total)
i felt extremely blessed to be in the room with such greatest. the bob dylan of down under for sure!https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9O6sIGCLDS0

Wow - thanks for that. I wasn't lucky enough to see him in a venue that small, it was at QPAC in Brisbane, which is a great venue for sound.helplessdancer said:

He is our greatest storyteller, and has such a calmness about him. For as good as he is, I think he is massively under rated and under appreciated by the majority

I struggled massively, and left some great albums out. I can't believe I left out Tea and Sympathy - I must have worn that album out when it was released. Forgot about Grinspoon, the Living End Debut is killer and I loved Sunset Studies by Augie March (There's no such place is a beautiful song)Natashapearljamfan said:This is too hard, there are too many great Australian albums! I was stuck on which Powderfinger album to pick and went with Internationalist. Double Allergic was my runner up though. Same with Silverchair, although I think Diorama is there best work, Frogstomp was such a cool album

Whilst doing some stuff around the house on Saturday, The Powderfinger catalogue got a good work out. Double Allergic is such a good album, as was the Mr Kneebone EPNatashapearljamfan said:This thread has made me pull out some old cds! I don't think I've heard the Mr Kneebone EP. Was that their first? This thread has been lots of fun....ashame it's slowed down.
I had an Aussie music weekend and I also pulled out Powderfinger, and Silverchair, Gotye, Gyroscope, Karnivool and Spiderbait.0 -
Mr Kneebone was released later - Transfusion was their second EP in about 93 and then their first album, Parables for Wooden Ears came out in 94. They signed a record deal and then tried to change their sound to suit the grunge explosion on their first album, it's got a few good songs on it, but not really recognisable as "Powderfinger" compared to everything from Double Allergic. Thankfully they went back to doing what they do best when writing Double Allergic.Natashapearljamfan said:I don't think I've heard the Mr Kneebone EP. Was that their first? Thanks for the video...I've got the DVD at home, but it was great to watch this again...thinking this weekend I might have to pull this DVD out and watch it. I'm thinking I'll also have to track down Mr kneebone and transfusion. No Coder said:
