A woman starts a tweet about your first sexual assault.....*an old man on a city bus grabs my p***y and then smiles at me I'm 12 years old* If no one tweeted in TEN minutes she was going to take it down. I believe they were many in that time to the point where she couldn't keep up with reading the many tweets. It was her way to keep the discussion of sexual assault going.

"They aren't just stats. I'll go first: 'Old man on city bus grabs my 'pussy' and smiles at me, I'm 12."

When she first posted the message, Oxford said in an interview later, she did not expect more than a handful of replies. "It was such a personal question," she said. "I thought, 'No one is going to share anything on Twitter.' "

Yet by Saturday morning, she was getting as many as 50 responses per minute: often-explicit, first-person accounts of molestation. A hashtag had materialized: "#notokay." The Twitter posts continued to pour in through the weekend. And by Monday afternoon, nearly 27 million people had responded or visited Oxford's Twitter page.

I'm good with this. Can we then get people like Miley Cyrus, who are some of the complainers, to not allow people to do it to her during her concerts? It sets a bad example.

follow slipknots example calling fuckers out and getting them ejected. be great if arrests and or reports for later arrest were taken before being tossed from the venue.

Does she allow it? I remember reading an article about some popstar named Iggy speaking out on how dangerous it is for her to go into crowds because she is routinely violated. I thought she did some kind of boycott.

Anyways, to the notokay movement I say, hell yeah! Stand up and be heard!

Most of you posts now are feeble attempts to get people in double binds, but now you're even doing that with Miley Cyrus?

I must say my first thought was "who is kay?" and why say no to her.

First comment on a thread about sexual assault is a bad joke. Keep it classy.

Iggy Azalea. When she'd crowd surf, people would finger her. No shit. Disgusting. Iggy Don't Surf.

I don't think it was really a joke, I read it that way at first glance as well.

You didn't feel the need to make a comment about it. Many conservatives have been trying to play down, distort, muddy and sidestep this issue lately.

Either way, I don't want to sidetrack an important issue.

Do you have any evidence that "people like Miley Cyrus" allow men to grope their genitals without permission?
    No?
    What a surprise.

I wasn't joking. There wasn't anything in my post implying to play down, distort, muddy or sidestep the issue. Basically saying what others (non-conservatives even) read the hashtag to say too. There is no place in our society for the abusive treatment of women.

So what is the double standard that you are talking about? Are you expecting us to be okay with Trump's comments because Miley Cyrus lets people grope her (if she lets them, doesn't that mean it's not against her will)? What kind of fucked up logic is that? Perhaps you think we should be holding Presidential candidates to the same standards that we hold Miley Cyrus?

Exactly. There is a HUGE difference between consensual and non-consensual. I don't know what Miley is up to, but if she is allowing people to touch her, then that is her prerogative. But nothing in Trump's braggadocio said anything about consent and certainly implied the opposite. Trump is a disgusting savage.

    Good. Sorry for the misunderstanding.
