    Thanks for the tip RazzyLane. I'm thinking that, for now at least, maybe I should help by buying some of his music from shawnsmith.bandcamp.com. That seems like a win-win scenario.

    Good morning Seattle and friends all over the world. This morning I didn't quite know what to think of some of the messages I've gotten. So I wanted to clear some things up. Anyone who is 50 years old needs to have a Dr.s appointment to get checked out. Shawn is not sick. I would like to not wait until he is to make sure he has what he needs to feel that he is stable and stable means long term. I got some message from his " roommate saying" you just made his rent go up " really? What kind of chode would see a friend getting help and pull a ghetto move like that? I told him " Really? I would like to see the written lease that he can live there indefinitely for $200.00 " Doesn't sound like " stability and love " to me. To even say his rent went up because he got help is a low low move and speaks volumes of why Shawn might not want to go " home " at night. I did not start this to cause a fight here. But wow. Most people would say " great bro, you should get a car " or something besides " I want my cut " which is pretty much what the " love and stable " guy is saying. One other thing, Shawn is not sick and he can tour! So you all who do all that stuff, that's up to you. I'm just the pissed off friend who wants to see Shawn not stuck and at least with wheels. The proof is in the pudding as the saying goes. The fact we raised almost $6000.00 in one day shows that people care and I still think I did the right thing -but to the chode roommate, you sir-I would like you to go public with your rent increase and see what others say of you chode move!

    I don't doubt her sincerity, but I also don't think throwing money at someone is particularly helpful when we don't really know what the issue is, and her post/updates aren't really helping give me comfort that the money will be handled appropriately.

    Hard to say, since his post that said he was fine has disappeared. Although, if you go to Xana's facebook, there's nothing publicly posted about this. If she wanted to get the word out, you'd think she'd be using social media to do so.

    I feel for your friend and hope he gets the help or money he needs. But I do not like these GoFundMe pages or website or whatever they are. I think anyone could start a scam and no ways am I saying that your friend is. But what makes him so more important than the next homeless guy or starving child that needs some money to help them along in life. My other question is what has happened to all his money that he has made to this point in his life?
