That is great that Pearl Jam will refund my tickets, but I have lost $125 for my hotel room that I can't get refunded because I went through priceline.

    well, fuckers, he still stands

I'm devastated but respect your decision...gotta do what you believe is right. However, I'm holding onto my Raleigh ticket and when we finally overturn this bullshit, hate-fueled law...it's on.

Sorry for those who had tickets and plans to attend. Think it may have been a bigger platform for them to go and spend significant time addressing their beliefs so that the fans with travel arrangements didn't get hosed 2 days prior to the show. Understand that this is what they felt they needed to do. Perhaps they could have arranged weeks ago to play somewhere within driving distance of Raleigh or something like that?
(And still have talked shit on the govt of NC and had a better platform than to do what others have done and cancel.)

While I understand, they should have announced earlier.

I just...wow. I fully respect and understand the decision, but this could have been done a week ago.

Thanks for the last minute notice! Why couldn't they've announced this sooner?

Fans shouldn't be punished for this. Play the show and turn into into a manifestation, donate money to the cause or whatever.

I think this is the wrong thing to do - especially for PJ who knows they have a fanbase who travels (far) to see them.

Think of how much more wrong HB2 is. The touring base will get over this in the long term.

Just because the HB2 is a shitty law, doesn't mean cancelling is the only – or the best method.

They are using their fans as ammunition.

And so close to the show – just like Bruce. Why didn't they cancel it earlier when he did it if they want to follow suit? Disrespectful to the fans – and I believe they could have protested and still played the concert.

Perhaps your hotel can offer you a redeemable credit for the future. Surely if you contact them, they will know about this news and perhaps consider something?

Good thing I flew in on Saturday...
I understand the cancellation but am angry they did the same as Bruce and waited very last minute to cancel.
  • I agree that the law is ignorant and dumb. Not opposed to the band canceling the show. But seriously, 3 days before. What kind of message does it send to the strangest tribe that has nonrefundable airfare/hotels/etc? Disappointed that this wasn't done a few weeks ago.

3 days is better than day of - at least gives you and others a proper chance to re-group.

Really feel for the travelling fans... especially those who are now losing money on flights, hotels, etc. This cancellation could've been done a couple weeks ago (maybe it doesn't make a difference to all travelers but maybe some)... instead the band waits until multiple other acts cancelled before pulling the trigger themselves?

    Not cool.

Wow. How about you consider your fans first? The fans who paid for non refundable airfare to watch you play. You are more than entitled to your opinions, but don't screw us over. Those of us who don't live in NC, nor who have anything to do with the political landscape there. You have really burned me. How about you make a stand at the show? No…? Fuck you.

Don't have an opinion - don't know how to feel, indifferent. Feel bad for traveling fans.

Agreed, but I respect the decision. They don't have the luxury of standing by and critiquing other decisions. They have to make a decision, and I respect it. This governor needs to be stood up to, this will get more attention than a mid-song rant by EV.

I hope they get acquainted with all other countries laws regarding discrimination before they play there again. Is South America leading the way? Mexico City? I don't know but the band must agree with every countries or states laws to play there now. That's fine..just keep it consistent.

This is so disappointing in many ways. My wife and I had tickets to this Wednesday night. I do not support this bill, I just live here, I had no opportunity to vote on it and did not even know about it until it was passed.

Why would Pearl Jam want to punish me, a long (LONG) time listener. And two days notice? This bill was passed weeks if not a month ago. These were the only tickets I tried for in the lottery so I will not be going to another concert.

This punishes the state of NC in no way, no one in government cares at all, it will change no minds. It punishes the venue, the workers at the venue, the hotels around the venue, and the fans the most of all. I can't bring myself to say screw you to the band because I love the music so much, but it hurts, I guarantee that.

Such a disappointment and so disappointed in band I have loved for well over 1/2 my life.
