TED CRUZ for President!!!!!!

Obviously simply calling someone by their full name in and of itself isn't racist. But to start using it in this race when the man actually 100% goes by Ted Cruz and everyone knows it has, in my opinion, and VERY obvious intent that is indeed about race. We all know what the implication is when someone puts forward the President's full name in that way, and the same thing applies with Cruz. In both cases it is indeed racist in context and we all know it. Someone using a name like that to illustrate hypocrisy doesn't make any of it less racist. That doesn't mean that the person saying it is racist. Surely you all know what I mean here.JimmyV said:
I do think using that name to disparage someone, implying there is something wrong with that name can be racist.
I don't think using someone's full name to illustrate the hypocrisy of others who have been guilty of racism in the past - which is the intent here - is at all racist. With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
Ted Cruz has a long political resume - I hope he gets more support in the upcoming elections

Just because it's long, doesn't mean it's any good.buck502000 said:Ted Cruz has a long political resume - I hope he gets more support in the upcoming elections

Strongly disagree. The man's name is the man's name. Using it isn't racism, nor we should we ever allow just using a name to be judged as racism. There are plenty of people who have referred to Barack Hussein Obama and not been racist for doing so. There are plenty of people who will refer to Raphael Eduardo Cruz and not be racist. Spitting that name at him, using it as a slur, that is racism. Simply calling him by it is not. At the same time, people pretending it isn't his name because it makes them uncomfortable, that could be argued to be racism. Reminding them of that racism and showing their hypocrisy is not racism.PJ_Soul said:___________________________________________

I already said I know just using a name isn't racist. I'm talking about context and intent. Look, it's not hard to know when it's being done in a racial context and when it's not. I don't know why we're debating this.JimmyV said:With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams, it is still a beautiful world. Be careful. Strive to be happy. ~ Desiderata0 -
I am being called racist because I support Trump for President.
Shit, been called racist for not supporting Obama.
The lowest of lows come within the moving train.
Can't be neutral, I love the uneducated.
Romney recently said regarding Trumps endorsement of him a few years ago that millions of people supported his bid, doesn't mean they are qualified to be POTUS.
Point is, ya'll need to calm down w calling people racist all blanket and shit.

Shit, I gave my boys middle name of my wife's maiden name. That's a Mexican name. I catch shit for being racist because I want a wall (we all know a wall means enforcing borders right? Doesn't have to be a wall. Read between the lines)
Hilarious ignorance

Not meaning to sound snarky here, but that's a bit like saying "brianlux has been playing guitar since 1968 so if Mike McCready were to retire, Mr. Lux would make a good candidate for his replacement."buck502000 said:

I agree with some of you above that Trump is the better alternative if we're absolutely stuck with the worst of choices. I seriously couldn't stand Cruz's form of bat shit crazy for four years. Trump, I think, will calm the fuck down if elected. He'll delegate all the important tasks, and then smoke cigars and play golf in between public appearances. Maybe make a deal or two that works in our favor. I kind of agree with him on China, and he's okay on health care.
Cruz will turn this country into a sharia styled theocracy. God help us if he got the Supreme Court.
I voted for Bernie in my primary.0 -
Bernie is the only candidate on either side of this who I believe when they speak. It's why I voted for him in my primary, too.what dreams said:I agree with some of you above that Trump is the better alternative if we're absolutely stuck with the worst of choices. With your trademark 'woot' and other silly items... you expect people to take you seriously and treat you with respect? I thought you were purposefully trying to be antagonistic and disenfranchise yourself from this community.
I'm confused by this display of sensitivity. I really am."My brain's a good brain!"0 -

Republican or Democrat, I don't think I could bring myself to vote for a man who ate his own booger on national tv.Thirty Bills Unpaid said:
It's got to be a booger that flew out of his nose upon a hard exhale. The reason I say that is for the following:
1. It's very likely he flossed and brushed his teeth for the engagement. So... it's highly unlikely an undidigested piece of oatmeal dislodged itself from between his molars and made its way outside his mouth and on to his lip.
2. There were no people within spitting range; therefore, it's inconceivable that anyone was shouting at him and lobbed shards of food at him in the process (which could account for the piece of matter he ingested while yapping away).0
