 To be fair, it looks like a piece of regurgitated food, not a booger, lol. It came out of his mouth and then went back in. Gross and embarrassing, but not as gross and embarrassing as snot stuck on a lip.

Someone here made the case a few days ago that Cruz would be far worse than Trump and I couldn't get that out of my mind when listening to him on Tuesday night.

I said that Cruz is probably worse because he seems more evil and more likely to get into more sinister shit than Trump would. Plus, Cruz is a Bible thumper and would bring that into his actions as President.
I'd say they are equally awful. But you've got a point about the bible thumping. Trump is just pretending to be a bible thumper to get elected (Two Corinthians anyone?). Cruz started his victory speech after the first caucus with "Glory be to God" or whatever...

Plus Ted Cruz ate a booger on live TV at the debate last night. That was so godamn funny I watched it 3 times then made my wife watch it.
Yeah, see I find that level of religion in politics absolutely horrifying. Way more terrifying than anything Trump might bring to the table.

I agree. My best friend from high school is a Presbyterian minister in North Carolina and she is sickened by the use of religion in politics. "It doesn't belong there," she says. She was quite amused by the "Two Corinthians."

What a choice - Cruz or Trump. I think it's Canada for me.

Because it his given name and it hopefully annoys the large segment of his supporters who have spent eight years referring to Barack Hussein Obama at every chance.

    Hence...Ted Cruz.

Both instances comes off as racist to me.

I don't think simply calling someone by their full, given, legitimate name is racist.

I do think using that name to disparage someone, implying there is something wrong with that name can be racist.

I don't think using someone's full name to illustrate the hypocrisy of others who have been guilty of racism in the past - which is the intent here - is at all racist.

    That thing?

It's got to be a booger that flew out of his nose upon a hard exhale. The reason I say that is for the following:

    1. It's very likely he flossed and brushed his teeth for the engagement. So... it's highly unlikely an undidigested piece of oatmeal dislodged itself from between his molars and made its way outside his mouth and on to his lip.
    2. There were no people within spitting range; therefore, it's inconceivable that anyone was shouting at him and lobbed shards of food at him in the process (which could account for the piece of matter he ingested while yapping away).
