That album is amazing! King Kunta sounds like a beat from DJ Quik though (read that they sampled one of his songs on it) but I still love it!

The Blacker The Berry is one of the best songs I've heard ever. Seriously. This guy is the real deal. I'm not a huge hip hop fan, and only started listening to him lately, but he is freaking unbelievable!

The widespread "mind-blown-ness" I'm hearing reported re: this album is really something. Looking forward to checking it out, and him live whenever I get to.

Remembering I posted in here a while ago....

Was lucky enough to catch Kendrick this past Monday. I was FLOORED. The man's meant to be on stage, entertaining people, and sharing his gift. Couldn't have had a better time. Super cool he had a guitarist, bass player, and drummer live with him. Totally added more to it. Rhythm section especially were very impressive.

Let me tell you--a room full of (mostly) young people singing things like 'I love myself' and "We gon' be alright,' while also listening intently to songs like Blacker the Berry was something I won't soon forget.

Yeah - I don't get it. Watched the whole Grammy performance. Seems like he's against, "the man" and that's his whole act.
