Saw Flying Lotus last year at Bumbershoot - was one of the loudest sets I've seen in years! But it was good, he was good. Didn't know he was buds with Thom Yorke, who I love. Cool stuff to know.
I bought this album due to all the hype it's getting and I'm still discovering it. I'm finding that it's taking me quite a few listens to get it, but that's usually a good thing. I really like the music. The thing about rap that I usually struggle with is the vocals. I find it can be very monotone. You can take rap vocals and put it over pretty much any music and it works. You can't do that with a singer. That being said there does seem to be something special about this album.
The blacker the berry, what a song. Really enjoying the album.
I think The Blacker The Berry is one of the most amazing songs I've heard in my entire life.

So powerful, the ultimate middle finger to racists. This album sounds like it came out of the early to mid 90's with it's production/sound. The bass is very pronounced, my car really vibrates haha

Ok, NEVER heard of that dude but that *King Kunta* video was a very nice jam. I'm going look for some more music by him. Also love that old school leather Patriot jacket, that WAS the best NFL logo ever.

I bought good kid m.A.A.d city yesterday and gave it a listen, I really like it after only the one listen. I bought the deluxe edition, comes with a second disc with 3 extra songs which are great too. He played in Melbourne, I missed his show, reviews of it and his other Aussie shows are that the shows were brilliant. I hope to see him next time.

Thanks. It is the only album I have not listened to. I checked out the samples on iTunes and am keen to get a copy. I bought Untitled Unmastered the other day and I like it. Everything he's released I love. The guy is a genius.

Just listened for the first time to the new album all the way thru. Incredible how much this guy has to say and what he's doing to elevate music, not just rap music, to another level. To all who say there's no good new music out there, or that music is not breaking any new molds, listen up. We are witnessing the next generation HoF.
