Going to the show on Friday and hoping to see a RedSox game on Saturday.

I heard the Brooklyn Dodgers are in town and Ted Williams is hitting cleanup
And Pearl Jam is playing center field.

We are considering Hilton Boston Back Bay. Wife always worried about clean hotels. Does anyone have any knowledge of the hotel? Or other suggestions for Hilton property??? For the Hilton points.
    I appreciate it gang!

Its not just Ticketmaster with crazy fees. Over $100 in fees for the hotel. Went from $500 to $600 for 2 nights

It is a lot but that also includes all of the taxes, which is 14.4% in Boston. So $72 of the $100 is just paying the taxes and the Hotwire fee is the difference. When you book a hotel on line or directly you are quoted a rate that doesn't include the 14.4% taxes, which you pay when you check out. So all in all it's only a $28 Hotwire fee. Not really that bad IMO.

My hotel is charging me $35.00 for parking. WTF?! It hurts my brain to think that a place to park my car isn't included when I book a hotel room. What else are you doing with the parking lot??
It sucks but is very common in many cities. It is usually included in vacation destination type hotels but not city-style hotels.

Booked direct through the hotel, not Hotwire.. I understand the fees. Just saying everyone takes there cut, not just Ticketmaster.

I was looking to stay with friends in Stoneham for the concerts (originally was mistaken they lived in Boston proper). Whats the public transportation like? I can't seem to find what time trains run until! We do not intend on having a car durign our stay. Any help would be appreciated! Just trying to figure out if I am better off booking an AirBnB closer to the park/attractions.

Last train on the Lowell line, which I assume you would take is 11:30, so probably no chance on that for your ride home. But for a ride in its not bad, just go all the way to north station then hop right on the greenline to Fenway from there!

Likely. Public transit is great especially heading to and from Fenway. But you don't want to be on the Orange line after dark...stay as far from the Orange line as possible...trust me!

To clarify, Jamaica Plain isn't far if you take the T, but you would have to take the Orange Line after the show, which you do not want to do!

Yea its just sketchy as hell. I have taken it a few times late at night and would not recommend it. Unfortunately I don't live near JP, so a ride from me is a no go!

Been to meetings at both but never stayed in either. From my experience they are exactly what you would expect. Maybe a little older but nice enough. They are right across the street from each other and in a great location for Fenway.

Thanks! Debating between one of these or paying a bit more for the Commonwealth that's closer to Fenway. Hotels in Boston aren't cheap!

My brother had his wedding reception at the Sheraton a few years ago and we stayed there for the weekend. We could see Fenway from our room although I wouldn't consider it close. It was very nice although the rooms were a bit on the small side like most older hotels in big cities. I think there is also a mall attached to the hotel if I remember correctly.

Join the commonwealth party if it's in the budget. Never stayed here but it's super close and heard great things. I lucked out and booked it before a 60% price increase.

Thanks! It looks to be under a mile from Fenway which is walkable for me. I try to stay at Starwood hotels when I can, although it does seem like a lot of money for what I'm getting. I do get early check-in/late check-out privileges which could come in handy!

Just booked the Doubletree Hilton in Bayside for $188 a night. There's a T stop nearby so shouldn't be too hard to get in and out of the city. Not sure what the area is like, but it gets decent enough reviews.
