i don't think there has been lolobugg, I have the same one as you, Plain105? Digitally sourced, very average sounding. There's only this or a very expensive original out there, the original is meant to sound great...lolobugg said:does anyone know if the My Bloody Valentine "Loveless" reissue mastered from the original analogue recording has ever been released? the copy I have is the inferior digital transfer.

After my comments above regarding Radiohead LP pressings, I decided to listen to both my Capitol releases of Ok Computer and The Bends as it's been a while since I played them. 'Ok' sounds really good, no major issues, track one Airbag doesn't seem quite as full sounding as the rest of the tracks, but thats about it. I guess I got one of the decent one's there.reesdog said:
The Bends though is a little murky sounding, definitely could be more dynamic, especially on the loud parts of My Iron Lung, still on a whole not too bad. I might have to try find the Parlophone versions and do a test...

My CD copy of the Bends sounds better than my vinyl - I can here the drums!!!0

I agree with this comment Buck, that's how I first heard The Bends was on CD and it sounded great. I got The Bends and the Foo Fighters first CD for my 21st birthday way back in 1995 when they were first released. They got played a lot..buck502000 said:My CD copy of the Bends sounds better than my vinyl - I can here the drums!!!

Me too. CD's are a little out of vogue right now but there a lot of bands/studios that made excellent use of the format.reesdog said:

I have a Rated X version. I believe it to be circa 2000 limited edition. I have yet to blast it.reesdog said:

Also on the link you posted it has a release date of 2003, this record was never reissued in 2003.
I'd recommend this pressing...

With the 000 000-0 catalog number it's a really good pressing, I brought this one myself recently to replace the former LP and it sounds really good..0 -

i am re-sleeving all my records and busted out Gish original version from Hut 1991.
sounds a little flat. i remember that they mastered it from digital. so many original 90s records suffer from this. Neil Young even predicted that for certain years that people were recording digitally that we would never hear a "great" version of that album. IE: a truly analogue recording.livefootsteps.org/user/?usr=446

It goes both ways, I guess. Alice Cooper's "Killer" sounds terrible on CD and glorious on vinyl but I'd take just about every Radiohead album on CD over the LP.If hope can grow from dirt like me, it can be done. - EV0

Good point lolobugg, I have 2 versions of Gish on vinyl, have never listened to them side by side to compare them though. Think I'll do that, usually the original's come out on top..lolobugg said:

because Billy was so adamant about remastering it around 1994... that is prob the better version.

Really? Which ones do you think sound better on LP, Hail To The Thief for sure right? I listened to Kid A - Capitol reissue the other night and that sounded superb too.. I guess a lot of it depends on which pressings you have..dudeman said:It goes both ways, I guess. I will throw my 2 cents in.
Kid A- Capital reissue on 10 inch sounds amazing.....
The Bends- I prefer the OG Parlophone release over the Capital repressing...
i haven't listened to the CDs in years so i couldn't tell you a damn thing about CD vs. Vinyllivefootsteps.org/user/?usr=446
