    I did Airbnb too and im by the campus about a mile from Rupp, just going to walk to the show...only spent 40 bucks on a tiny apartment with the discount, couldn't beat that for what hotels were asking for..hope to see everyone there

    you can either rent a room in their house (private or not private), attached to the house, or in most cases ive seen you rent out the whole apartment...most of them that I have seen are private and the one I booked for Lexington is a tiny studio apartment and he will not be there he just owns it

    Thanks very much for the info! I'm definitely going to make it to Keeneland now that I know racing is on the Sunday or Wednesday. My Plan for Frankfort was to go to Buffalo Trace, and Lousiville the plan was to go to the Stitzel-Weller distillery. Hopefully will have time to hit many in-between like Four Roses. Are there any smaller distilleries that someone outside of Kentucky might not know about that you'd recommend? Other than that may just take a tour of Churchill Downs.

    I mentioned earlier that my brother really likes the tour at Wild Turkey. After thinking about it, I believe I was mistaken. I think it was Four Roses. It's not far from Lexington or Frankfort. Another good one is Woodford Reserve. I've done that tour and thought it was great. At that time of year, it should be beautiful.

    I don't think I'd bother with Churchill. If you go to Keeneland first, Churchill will be a huge step down. There just isn't much to see there, but it is the place they run the KY Derby, so there's that.

    Regarding Keeneland, if you go on Sunday it will likely be packed unless the weather is bad. Like, elbow to elbow packed. If you want it to be a little more relaxed and a little more room to breathe, go on Wednesday. Post time isn't until 1:00ish, so you have plenty of time after a late night. Just wanted to set some expectations.

    I'm coming up from middle Tennessee. Never been to Lexington. I live an hour and a half from Bonnaroo, but i refuse to put up with that mess. I'm really bummed that the Nashville show fell through, but I'm looking forward to checking out a new town. One good thing about PJ not playing near me is that it has given me some great travels. Booked a room at the Hyatt.
