2016 PJ25 Tour Rumors

But they barely play any festivals in the US. The last tour was billed 'An evening with PJ'. I wouldn't call it a priority.ComeToTX said:
Yeah, it sucks. They seem to want to play the least amount of shows to make the most amount of money these days. That means festivals are a priority.ponytd said:I really, really hope they don't do Bonaroo. They haven't played in Nashville since April 2003 and even though Bonaroo is an hour from my house, I'd rather drive 15 minutes to downtown than to Manchester and deal with 100k people and sit in 3-4 hours of traffic to watch them play a shortened set.
Not that my opinion matters in the grand scheme of things, and it's the band's choice. I'm sure it's much more appealing to them to play Bonaroo than an arena, but I'd much rather see them in an arena or amphitheater than a festival any day0 -

I think most of us are just saying that it wouldn't surprise us if that did happen, not that we expect it to happen. There's also rumours of Jazz Fest and, if that's true, the April/May time frame likely sticks. You'd think that they wouldn't want 'Roo to be a one-off show, but then again, Lolla 07 was (with the warm-up at the VIC), so it is possible that the April/May tour stays in tact and 'Roo is a on-off. There are a lot of possibilities right now and we will hopefully have some answers in the next month.front spacer said:I don't know why everyone thinks that an apparent date in June at Bonnaroo negates all the original April-May dates.
They could also end up at Bonnaroo at the end of their run....
Or they could play April through Mid-May, take 3 weeks off, and then hit some summer shows.....
I still think the bulk of the tour begins in SoFla on April 7th/8th/9th.

What a shitty attitude to have, did it never occur to you that maybe they want to reach new fans and play for people who !might not be familiar with them?ComeToTX said:

Not really. They basically play the same markets over and over with a few exceptions while ignoring large parts of the country where they aren't guaranteed immediate sell outs.rgambs said:

Lol! Exactly.Bentleyspop said:Adele and Bruce spoke to Eddie at their most recent meeting of the illuminatti and asked him to postpone PJ ticket sales till January so as not to cause people to have to decide between the 3 different tours.

I read it as more of a disappointment in his home town show being scrapped due to a festival. I don't blame him for that. I was excited for a possible show in Nashville, was really hoping to see the city. I have less than zero interest in Bonaroo. But we will see in a few weeks once the dates are out.rgambs said:

And I'm sure possibly gaining new fans in a reason they play festivals. I'm also sure the huge paycheck from Bonaroo is a reason too....got a mind full of questions and a teacher in my soul...0 -
Not even my hometown. Just an easy place to fly to for me. They haven't done a non-festival show in my hometown since 1995!This show, another show, a show here and a show there.0

So if they ended up doing the second weekend of NOLA jazz fest, wouldn't that take them out of the Northeast for the weekend of April 29th?0
-
Yes it would. Although IIRC the NYC shows were that weekend and were Sunday/Monday, so they could play Jazz Fest Friday, then head straight to NYC and carry on from there...BL259797 said:So if they ended up doing the second weekend of NOLA jazz fest, wouldn't that take them out of the Northeast for the weekend of April 29th?

Saw a leaked info season tix holder thing on here and Facebook that said Pearl jam was under pending shows for next year at Toyota center. No date was given as it was pending. Madonna and foo fighters were also on the pending roster. Madonna show just got announced on TM so hopefully this holds true that PJ will play here. I live down the road from Toyota center. I'd love to see them play Houston again, it's been 13 years since they have played here.my2hands said:
