If the bottom half had background it wouldn't bother me, but the white bottom half is just too much for me.

Spring tour dates may now be canceled, or maybe not.

The rumored European dates have been canceled due to terrorism or Eddie's ego and the Cubs or Boom's dislike for Europeans (I think it's a little of everything)

Arborist are still debating the validity of the Lexington Kentucky sign.

    Bonaroo seems to be official.

The rumoured European dates have been cancelled because they conflicted with the timing of Bonnarroo (tour was set to start in Amsterdam the weekend of Bonnarroo).

The million dollar question, as you noted, is if the April/May US & Canada tour becomes the June US & Canada tour given the commitment to play Bonnarroo.

Would the band really (potentially) cancel an entire Euro leg and 1-2 American shows at the prospect of one Festival show? That seems like a large shift.

they'd definitley cancel the american shows for the kind of money they get for roo. no clue about europe.

Given how last minute their commitment to 'Roo (apparently) was, my guess is that the organizers were desperate for a big headliner and threw a bunch of cash at the band ~ too much for them to refuse.

The only definite cancellation in the US is the Nashville show (Atlanta may be a casualty too along with Lexington) but those dates can easily be replaced with other cities to make up that lost revenue (such as Pittsburgh, which was apparently cut too). If they reschedule the entire tour to stat say in Miami in early June, no money is lost, but perhaps they have to change up a few cities based on venue availability. Again, no revenue lost there.

As for Europe, perhaps all they do is play Europe next year rather than this year, Perhaps they fill those dates with additional shows in the US around the rumoured Wrigley and/or Fenway dates that weren't initially planned. Perhaps they fill the void by adding a couple of other US festivals in the summer/fall. Perhaps they just take it easier than they were initially planning and play a few less shows.

On the surface this may look like a "large shift" but it really isn't, especially in terms of the financial and scheduling impact on the band. It's probably been a pain in the ass for management though...

But isn't Bonnaroo their choice. They could play it every year if they wanted and needed the money. It's not like the organisers call up KC and say 'Hey Kelly, guess what, we're going to let you play this year.'

I don't know why everyone thinks that an apparent date in June at Bonnaroo negates all the original April-May dates.

They could also end up at Bonnaroo at the end of their run....

Or they could play April through Mid-May, take 3 weeks off, and then hit some summer shows.....

I still think the bulk of the tour begins in SoFla on April 7th/8th/9th.

It's not negating the whole run, but it would most likely cancel some of the shows.

Adele and Bruce spoke to Eddie at their most recent meeting of the illuminatti and asked him to postpone PJ ticket sales till January so as not to cause people to have to decide between the 3 different tours.

I really, really hope they don't do Bonaroo. They haven't played in Nashville since April 2003 and even though Bonaroo is an hour from my house, I'd rather drive 15 minutes to downtown than to Manchester and deal with 100k people and sit in 3-4 hours of traffic to watch them play a shortened set.

Not that my opinion matters in the grand scheme of things, and it's the band's choice. I'm sure it's much more appealing to them to play Bonaroo than an arena, but I'd much rather see them in an arena or amphitheater than a festival any day

Yeah, it sucks. They seem to want to play the least amount of shows to make the most amount of money these days. That means festivals are a priority.

This makes perfect sense - and I do agree about the Management hassle. I assumed most, if not all tour planning is done at that level.

    Thanks!

I think most of us are just saying that it wouldn't surprise us if that did happen, not that we expect it to happen. There's also rumours of Jazz Fest and, if that's true, the April/May time frame likely sticks. You'd think that they wouldn't want 'Roo to be a one-off show, but then again, Lolla 07 was (with the warm-up at the VIC), so it is possible that the April/May tour stays in tact and 'Roo is a on-off. There are a lot of possibilities right now and we will hopefully have some answers in the next month.

Not really. They basically play the same markets over and over with a few exceptions while ignoring large parts of the country where they aren't guaranteed immediate sell outs.
