Random 10c seating is a GREAT idea
is a great idea... i really hope the band goes in this direction for future tours... i am sure it sucks for the band to see the same 100 faces upfront every night, it probabaly sucks the energy out of the show a little for them... not to mention the folks up front are used to being upfront and they dont bring their a-game energy to every show... let some noobs get up there and freak out
everyshow i go to with my 10c i am in the same general area, and i would like it to be mixed up... i think it would be awesome to get random tickets and open that envelope before the show to discover where you are...
i think it is a great idea and would add alot of evergy to the show, especially up front... it would also expand interest in joining the 10c if noobs had a random chance at amazing seats...
i am not suprised at all that Eddie is doing this for his shows... and i think it is a sign of things to come... hopefully

and what is your number
six digits and begins with a 3?
Its not a great idea.
Edit:
Its a great idea for any shows I dont go to!0 -
On the flip side random seating also gives a scalper who bought a membership a month before a tour was announced, a much better chance of having really top seats to sell, compared to a senority system.
That said I do like the idea of a "golden ticket" type situation that has been proposed before where one random set of tickets is front row seats. That way it is not enough people moving up to really push anyone back, but at the same time, everyone has a shot to be at the front.0 -

I'm a pretty high number only being in the 10c for a few years (despite how long I've been a fan) ... While I would be all for this from a selfish stand point, I think this would be an enormous slap in the face to the long time clubbers.
The only thing that may work ... if there are multiple shows in the same city ... have one show be seating by senority and the other show be random. If there's only one show ... make it by seniority. I think that would be a good idea to mix it up a bit. (Will probably see resistance to this regardless)
Then again, if they keep playing the Civic center here in SF ... no worries, it's GA! Which me and my 300k number really appreciated."You're one of the few Red Sox fans I don't mind." - Newch91

Great idea for people with a crappy 10C membership #. But I would feel slighted if I have been a paid member since the mid-90s.Steve

exactly-thank you!
I am in favor of giving a FEW PAIRS of choice seats to those with higher numbers at each show. And I mean really high numbers, like start at the back
Everyone else should have to wait, like the rest of us did.0 -
why is that a slap in the face?
because you can't sit up front at every single show? really? thats just being spoiled. I dont think its really owed for being a longtime fan.
i think having the occasional seniority based show would be cool. like the multiple shows in one city idea someone had earlier.
or half and half0 -
no no no not another seating fucking thread why ,i have no answers i joined when i joined that is all it's the same as when someone states it's not my fault i was born when i was born ,its the same for me i joined when i did because i was fortunate enough to be that is all ,there is no rhyme or reason ......jesus greets me looks just like me ....0

Because we have been paying the membership fee longer ad patiently waiting for our time "up front."
Why would a new member be entitled to a privilege that has always been earned through years of supporting the band and the fan club?0 -

I have a solution for the 10c ticket problem, home town shows!0 -
I think that its lame that they have seats on the floor anyways. We are all older and I don't think we would crush each other on the floor like its the early 90's.
Have all 10C seats be GA and there will be no complaints. If you don't want to be on the floor there should be able to request side stage seats.10/31/2000 (****)

I still like the idea of the first two rows being random; this only moves the old-timers back 2 rows and gives everyone a chance to be up front...0

Yea but everyone knows its rougher overseas.

thats because it is the same 100 people up front every night... bringing lame energy0 -
New people need the chance to be up front.
I dont understand how it is a slap in the face to long time ten clubbers.
The fact remains, even with random seating, you will still have priority seating to the show. Better seats then one would find with ticketmaster. I guess thats just not enough for some people, they need to count Ed's nosehairs.
I've been a member since 05 and have generally had great seats. I dont understand how people can think they deserve to be in the first 3 rows at every single show because you've sent in 15 bucks a year for 10 years.
Stop being so selfish, and let the n00bs show you how to rock out in the front row. (I cant understand the people that just stand still, looking impatient, just waiting for something like "No Way" to make the show "exciting")2004 - 10/1, 10/11

GA sucks and is dangerous. If they headline ACL i'll prob skip it due to the first reason. Not to mention some people will inevitably get hurt. I think shaking things up just a little in the seating department couldn't hurt. But it needs to be done in a way to not alienate old school members, yet allow some newER members a chance to see the band from a reasonable distance. By 'newer' i don't particularly mean people who just signed up this year. I've been a member for 5 or 6 years and have never seen them in the first 20 rows. Not that I ever had any problem with my seats, and it's not like they TOUR HERE anyway. Bastards. Anyway, if I was used to getting to see them from 10 rows away or closer, I'd certainly be willing to take a reserved seat further back every now and then. Especially if the band was playing multiple nights in one city.0

My question then is, how do you prevent a scalper who only buys a membership on years when there is a tour rumor, from having access to the front row?0
