i didn't make it down and am now kicking myself for not trying to get down but saw some of it on TV. grew up catholic but don't practice anymore but seeing the Pope back in this area is pretty fucking cool and the coverage looked fantastic. crowds looked really respectful and joyous too.Cliffy6745 said:One of the coolest days of my life, and I have had some fucking fun. I am not a catholic, married a catholic in the church and I love this man.0 -
Yeah, man. Everything was so awesome. Everyone just had a sense of positivity that was great. This city should be very fucking proud. There is national guard on every corner and so many people are giving them food. People giving out free food and water all over the city. It was a great day.pjhawks said:

Me and my people making our national TV debut
View of the pope. Came by 15th and jfk twice. On the first pass we just got a look and on the second we snapped a few pictures.
This crew was walking around singing. It was awesome. They were singing "we came to see the pope" in a Mexican tune. Were singing "hoooooooooly father" and would then yell "Francisco" and jump in the air
Good times
Just got back from riding my bike down there. Much different today. Crowds are absolutely massive. Security lines are blocks long. Lots of people aren't going to make it in. People should just turn around and go to a jumbotron outside if the secured area
Crowd predictions were in no way exaggerated.Post edited by Cliffy6745 on0 -
People are bringing TVs outside for people stuck in line. Awesome. Again, this city should be proud0

that looks awesome Cliffy. cool to see the pictures. I'm sure you will remember this weekend forever. Definitely city should be damn proud for how everyone handled themselves and how well everything went. Just seeing the coverage on TV it's awesome how lively and personable the Pope was. Lots of big smiles from him.Cliffy6745 said:

I don't know how he did it. 78 years old and was constantly on his feet. Pretty impressive. All in all a great weekend for the city and a lot of fun to experience it.pjhawks said:

For people who live in Philly, this was the best part. Wish they would shut down a portion of the city for a weekend every once in a while

Ha. What's funny, Cliff, is I know the girl all the way to the left in the striped hoodie as well.
Everything looked great. Wish I could've gotten up on The Ben.0 -

Yeah, we actually never did. They were saying that you weren't allowed to ride bikes across but every time they showed it people were0 -
Yeah they're saying that the Vatican doesn't deny a meeting happened.Cliffy6745 said:

Definitely disappointed but not surprised. We forget he's still the leader of a gigantic religion based on magic.
Maybe it was nothing more than saying 'God Bless You' to a row of people in a crowd, and this psycho was one of them.
I expected better, Frank.Post edited by Jearlpam0925 on0 -

Apparently the Vatican is much better at PR than they used to be. Says the Kim Davis meeting wasn't set up by him and was very informal and that he met in private with a gay couple he knows from Argentina that he set up.Jearlpam0925 said:
