We have had threads on this very board in which white people were making trouble and thug never came up.
I am not disputing that these kids are thugs, but when a word is only used for a particular race, it is being used in a racist way.
Just like how nobody calls James Holmes a terrorist but the Ft. Hood shooter surely gets called that... I'm sure it has nothing to do with skin color or faith. Right.

Two events where the predominantly white 'activists' were labelled thugs.

So, one more time... you are wrong: it's not a term reserved for black people... it's a term reserved for 'thug' behavior.

Again, it's not that the term is innacurate, it's the disparate way in which it is used. When white people riot over idiotic, childish sports games why is the media and social media (these boards certainly included) largely silent?
Where is the rage? Where are the thug denunciations? Why is it only black people that gain such attention? There is never a good reason tto destroy one's neighborhood, but racial tensions with police is certainly a more justified motivation than a damn kids game played by bigbaby millionaires.

When idiots riot in Vancouver they are almost all white, and the public reaction and the media reaction are very harsh. I don't think what you're saying here is accurate at all. I've never seen a riot go without a lot of attention, no matter who the rioters are. However, you may be talking about the extra layer added by the fact that these riots are race riots. THAT makes the riot a bigger deal than, say, a fucking Stanley Cup riot, because it's socio-political, and therefore has a farther reach than a "regular" riot. I really don't think the attention they get has anything to do with the fact that it's a "black" riot per se, as in gets more attention just because the rioters are black. The fact that race riots are still fucking happening in the USA is huge news in and of itself. I can barely fucking believe it.
