So I passed out as soon as my head hit the pillow (too much excitement today, considering I'm still sick) around 11 pm and I woke up at 1am as if it were morning. Can't get back to sleep. :anguished:

When I came home from brunch I just could not stay awake, fell asleep around 3pm...woke up at 6:30pm...I've been up ever since.

Mmm brunch. I was thinking about getting a bowl of cereal but my cat is blocking my exit from my bed.

Does it count as insomnia if you are kept up because your sick dog is up pacing around all night, her toe nails making little "click click click" noises??

I fell asleep around 10pm...then got woken up by my dog at 2am....now I can't get back to sleep. My dog on the other hand, is sleeping soundly.

I think insomnia is defined as an ongoing medical or psychological condition and not just something external keeping you awake. ;)
Can you clip her nails to stop the clicking?

Even with short nails she clicks. I think we'd have to remove them, or possibly consider slippers

    Or carpet.

My antibiotics are wreaking havoc. Usually my problem is falling asleep. Since I've been on these I can't fall asleep but if I do I can only sleep 3 hours max before waking up. I'm a mess.

I'm trying to watch something boring on TV to fall asleep...why is it that as soon as I start to doze off, the stupid Emergency Alert System test buzzer has to come on? "THIS IS A TEST OF THE EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM" EEEEENNNNNTTTTT....EEEEENNNNNTTTTTT......EEEEENNNNTTTTT
"THIS HAS BEEN A TEST OF THE EMERGENCY ALERT SYSTEM, HAD THIS BEEN A REAL ENERGENCY THE PRECEEDING TONES WOULD HAVE BEEN FOLLOWED BY EMERGENCY INFORMATION"

I never see that thing go off during the day...wouldn't you want more people to know what the tones sound like? Wouldn't it be better to test during the day?

I've only ever seen it after 3am.
What I want to know is why I can't get that noise as a ringtone for my alarm :-P

Slippers were my next suggestion! They do exist for dogs, or just rig cloth bags with a drawstring you can tie around her ankles. :)

330am is a time people wake up like for good right? It's not completely out of line for me to go start making myself breakfast? :disappointed:

Woo hoo! 5 hours of sleep! My 'alarm' this morning was the sound of a cat barfing.

I didn't sleep a single wink last night, I remember just laying there rolling back and forth side to side...my brain not willing to turn off, and yet not thinking or worrying about anything important, just stupid shit!

I could probably sleep, but there is a loud, consistent sound that is what quite possibly could be what an angrry bear juggling 5 chainsaws would sound like.

I don't even know if that makes sense...so tired, sound is so annoying, can't concentrate....

Is the sound coming from Mr. RK, or a pet?

Personally, I would love to see an angry bear juggle 5 chainsaws.

for yrs i had a problem with insomnia. i highly recommend if you live in a state with mmj...a few hits of the right kind at bedtime makes me sleep solid for 8-9 hours

Seriously considering asking my Doctor about this on my next visit.
