When people type 'alot' - this is not a word it is two words 'a lot', quit being a lazy git and freaking type it out properly.

When people are out and about, on the computer etc. Complaining about having a migraine - no you have a bad headache, which I am sorry for really I am. However a migraine does not allow you to function at a somewhat normal level - your vision blurs or fades in and out, nausea, light & sound sensitivity(both of which create crippling pain when infringed on). You don't do shit but lay still in the darkest, quietest place you can find a pray for death until it's over.

When bath is used as a verb, because it's not. Bath is a noun, bathe is verb.
Ex. I gave the dog a bath.
I'm going to bathe the dog.
Please for the love learn the difference.

Haha...breath / breathe does the same for me.

And damned migraines! When I was in my 20s/30s, I used to get them at least twice a month. Thankfully it's just once in awhile now but yeah...that shit'll take me down for awhile (and then have to deal with the "hangover"). Working is out, let alone running errands and the like.

People that type could/would/should OF. It's fucking HAVE, not OF. "Of" doesn't even make any god damn sense. What you are hearing when people speak is the contraction could've, would've, should've, not the word "of." STOP FUCKING TYPING "OF!"

Are you saying "I gave the dog a bath" is incorrect? Because in that sentence bath is correctly being used as a noun.

I know I was giving an example of each used in the correct context so people could see the difference. I know far too many people who say "I'm going to bath the dog".

Speaking of that, why are more and more people saying things like, "I seen that movie" "I seen the accident on my way home"...it's fucking 'saw'..."I saw that movie"
Just like when people say "I is going home"....aaarrrggghhh!

How about when people leave out words in a sentence.. Like ' why you doing that?' Or ' We goin to the store' ARE!! Why are you doing that? We are going to the store.
  • PJ_SoulPJ_Soul Vancouver, BC Posts: 49,473
Lol. I think if I heard someone say "We goin to the store" I'd think they had a minor stroke. Do people actually talk like that??

Or saying you're sorry at all, is incorrect. You should apologize instead. To say you are sorry means you are pathetic or worthless. However I am quite guilty of this very offense.
  • hedonisthedonist standing on the edge of forever Posts: 24,524
I always considered an apology on par with saying sorry (aside from the condolences side of it - ie, I'm sorry for your loss).

I've used both terms, and from my mind, each represent regret.

Yes, like I said earlier, I am the WORST offender there. But in all honesty sorry originally had no remorseful connotation until the last 60 or so years. Its true context is this: That car is a sorry heap of metal. ( I know you already know that.. But in case done one didn't I have an example). It's just funny that it irritates me so, and get I still do it.

:)) I hate that too. I actually just insist that someone else take the last piece right away so we can avoid the whole thing.

I am sure I must have said this already, but it really can't be said too much: the your/you're thing is driving me fucking bonkers. I should just let it roll off my shoulders, but I can't. It is truly bothering me, more all the time. Same with the 's for making things plural. Stop it!!!! :anguished:

Idiot parents bringing their kids to R rated movies that are far from tame. This happened to me last week when I saw Sicario. I try to go to my local art house theater to AVOID such idiocy yet it happens there.

On a side note: how was the movie? It looks like it would be good.

People that reverse the scores of games. For example, "they lost 6-17". It's 17-6!!! I have a chargers friend that said the Chargers had a good game and lost "19-22".
