Present Tense at Borgata 2... I literally flipped OUT! It was surreal..so much emotion going through me...and it was a real surprise, i think they've only opened with it 2 other times. It was truly at treat, getting to scream that chorus with everyone.

My first show ever....travelled all the way to Berlin in 00. Opened with Sometimes....the first time I saw them walk out, time felt like it stopped, as if I knew I missed something all those years.......I never had a chance to see them and I really didnt have friends that were into concerts...I kinda floated by with all my friends in college saying "you've never been to see them"/....

I answered...I have only been to one concert....

    anyway....

the first notes blew me away, then Eddie started singing Sometimes...hard song to get right and he fricking nailed it...great set, great crowd....and I truly walked out of that concert a different person. I tell people now (I have met soooo many people before shows that say "I love PJ, but have never seen them...are they good?" All I can say is something that sounds lame, but is oh so frickin true.

You walk out with a different emotion as if you finally UNDERSTAND the music or feel more connected to it. That first song sticks with me and that emotion of feeling in tune with the crowd and the history of the band is unexplainable....that is why I pay for any and everyone to go see our band.

    short answer...Sometimes, Berlin

Last song I saw, YellowLedbetter hawaii.......

Next song I will see: either Baseless or Split Decision, off the new b-side Album that is being released in early July. Cant wait.....22 unheard songs they recorded from Avocado and the High Definition DVD of 4 full shows (undecided so far) for the upcoming West Coast Blitz tour. I cant believe they plan on doing 30 shows in 31 days in California, Vegas and Washington state in August. They are even doing three shows in one day - short sets, but at awesome places. August 14 they are playing the Greek Theatre in LA, the Greek Theatre in Berkely and the GOrge!!!! All in a day.

    Those crazy guys.....
  • Release...9/11/98...I had tears in my eyes...fucking 19 year old guy, I didn't care...

I felt affirmed that they were who I suspected them to be...

We were behind and to the left of the band, above them...looking down, listening to Black, when Ed started singing walk in me...most spiritual moment of my life...until about 30 seconds later when Mike shredded my soul with his solo...

Of The Girl - Wembley, London, May 29, 2000.

being bitter and mean-spirited, immediately after the "wow! i can't believe i'm finally seeing Pearl Jam", i have to confess that i did fleetingly think something along the lines of "damn, it's not Release or Long Road"...! :o

  • My first song was Animal in New Orleans '95. I was soaking wet from the rain, half wasted, adrenaline pumping, and they kicked ass with so much energy from the first note played.

  • Better Man, in Madrid, Thursday 9th September, 2006. I needed to pee as soon as MMJ left the stage, but me and my Dad (yeah, 19 at the time and my Dad took me to Madrid to see Pearl Jam. Lucky bugger, eh? I did pay for the tix mind. Best gig buddy ever, my old man, so all's fair for the amount he's bought me) are about 12 rows back, so we'll be damned if we're moving.

So, on they come, everyone is *slightly* excited. And Ed starts with that familiar, gorgeous sound... Better Man.

A massive hug with my Dad as the guitars crash in, and then we're away, me, Dad, every Spaniard, European, American, Australian, whoever, in the joint, and it's magical. Me and my Dad got separated, which tempered it a little bit, but I've never jumped and vaulted so much in a crowd before or since. First time I've really seen absolutely everyone around me going INSANE for a band. And it ruled.

That and Another Brick In The Wall, Little Wing, a storming RvM, a rockin' Grievance (one of my all time faves) and a sumptuous Severed Hand... Safe to say my little mind was blown.

Wembley will struggle to top it.

    Peace and love :)
Too many cowboys, not enough indians, so just go ape shit!
