Did you mean to answer here reesdog? I am wondering the same thing... I'm thinking maybe the stereo box will really go down in price now that the mono box has been released... but is the difference big enough to forget about saving money?reesdog said:reesdog said:

I never bought the Stereo box set, just a few individual albums. The Mono box set is all analog, according to the articles I've read: http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/the-beatles-in-mono-to-get-lavish-vinyl-release-this-fall-20140616PJ_Soul said:

The packaging is phenomenal, all covers and labels are replicated from the original releases. So far, I've only listened to Please, Please Me. It sounds fantastic! I will be doing some serious listening this weekend! I'm playing these albums on my 1970's Pioneer set-up: SX-626 Receiver, PL-570 turntable, with Pioneer HPM 60 speakers. I'll update as I progress through the box set.

Yeah I meant to ask here PJ_Soul. Yeah, I'm thinking this is a very cool release, but I wish I'd known about this before buying some of the Stereo versions a couple of years ago. Mono is the way to go I think, as that's the way they were intended to be heard originally and it's nice to hear that you are impressed with what you've heard so far BigDaddyWil. Not sure which individual one's I'll pick up, I'm mainly into The Beatles mid-to-late period, Help through to Abbey Road. I might try and get Beatles For Sale & A Hard Day's Night, though they are kinda pricey I see...BIGDaddyWil said:

I'm torn. To be honest, I am not the biggest Beatles fan in the world. I enjoy their music for sure, and I really enjoy a good Beatles session on the record player, but they might not even rank in my top 20. That said, i would love to own some Beatles. I have none yet because i keep hoping my mom will relinquish her beatles albums, but no luck yet, lol. I do, however, appreciate really good quality sound coming from my records, and a cool box set. But do I like them enough to pay for the monos if the stereos are way cheaper?... I'm just not sure. Oh dear, life is hard with such decisions, lol!reesdog said:

Ps- when I was much younger I was a much bigger beatles fan, and one day I took my mom's original copy of Sergeant Pepper's and cut up the booklet to tape the pictures to my bedroom wall. X_X I'll give my mom credit - she took it really well. If i had a kid who did that I'd go ballistic!) I'm totally pissed off at myself for doing it still!
